PERU MEGALITHIC EXPLORATION - Oct 20th

   Wed, October 24, 2007 - 11:23 AM
Because Peru haltedfor a day due to the annual poll, I got stuck in an Arequipa hostel called The Point. I met the English owner James who kindly let me download the Bethe Hagens grid program on his computer to do some research. I found that Churin is the nearest place to it, so another destination to visit with Frank in a few days.

After a day of chilling I got a night bus to Nasca & arrived a a hostel at 5am! After two hours sleep I was off to the airport to witness the Nasca lines from the air. Facing my new fear of flying head on was kind of fun. I met Kerry at the Hostel who came along for the ride. After a fascinating documentary about Nasca looking at the shamanic aspect of the use & creation of the lines, We were up.

Im amazed they managed to build the Pan American highway in the 1920´s without even noticing the lines & effigies. See-sawing the plane from left to right was fun for the pilot, but a new experience for us! The animal figures were relatively small but I was amazed by the vastness of the entire area. Some 500 sq Km of lines, runways & effigies.

Ley lines, spirit paths & astro-alignments have all been suggested, but new research suggests they point to underground water, which makes sense in a desert. I think they also marked telluric energies for the same survival sense.

After a trip to the Nasca mummies, I parted company with Kerry & headed to the Marie Reiche Planetarium, the lady who brought it to the public attention. The presentation was amazing, using 3D light models covering the ceiling with a coresponding talk, plus speculations how some of the effigies were zodiacal signs. A breath of fresh air on the Nasca mystery, but there is still no definate answer. It is so similar to UK ley lines & landscape zodiacs, but also many other ideas. May the mystery continue.
