Holy crap. So next week, I go from a pretty cushy (if bland, and horribly far) job in IT, to a job where I'm making *things* for a glass studio. Holy crap. I spent the day at the studio on monday, they had me design a system to move a series of swivels to different points on the face of a giant custom kiln they have. They run cables through the glass in the kiln, and then weight it at various points. So I designed this rail system, and then they bought the metal and I started to weld it together. It seems like it's gonna work really well, but there was far too much work to do in a day, so I left instructions on how to finish it in case I didn't end up working there. Well, I'm gonna go in and finish it. And when it's done, they're gonna have me make something else. And so on. It sounds completely awesome and fun, cause I'll be making *things* all the time. And I get to design them, and make them how I want, and on and on and on. I'm so excited. I'm gonna learn so much! But jesus christ is this ever scary. I'm taking a significant pay cut to work there, and I won't have health insurance through work for the first while. (anyone have any good tips on private insurance?) I feel like this is the right thing to do, but I mean, I've been fooling with tech my whole life. I've been fooling with building things for a year and a few months. I'm so scared. I'm really excited. p.s. It's in San Francisco!

So I'm going to this thing in the desert. Should be crazy. If you're looking for my tent, it'll be at Camp DDI: Esplanade and 3:30! If you're looking for my project, it'll be around 11 or so! Come a half-hour to an hour after dark, and it should be running! If you're looking for me, I'll most likely be at one of those spots, hanging out at the BLD (4:30 & Chance) or out on the open playa lookin' at all the pretty things!

Or at least it seems to be. Last week was Jesus is Magic, and it was completely hilarious. This week, going for something a bit more mainstream with the premiere of V for Vendetta in IMAX! How exciting is that. VERY. I reccomend watching Natalie Portman's gangsta rap at this point, if you have not seen it already. (Link: http://www.devilducky.com/media/42822/ ) Anyway, me, my brother, and Reed are for sure seeing it at 7:10PM, and more would be great! I'm not sure how crazy it'll be, opening night and all. We pre-bought tickets. I imagine there will be food after! Anyone know of fun later-night things for tommorow? I'm interested!

What a good little site, all keeping track of what I listen to for me. I totally appreciate it! So I'm completely broke, and I'm really feeling pathetic asking my mom or my brother for money to help me pay for gas to get to work every day till I start getting paid. (I just started a job, which I'm not too sure about, and it's 40 miles away each direction) I don't think anyone on my list here has a PSP or a DS anyhow, but if you do, and you feel like having more games, I'd be glad to help you out. I don't really care how much you feel like paying for em, they's just the most obvious thing I can see in my room to sell. Wipeout Pure - PSP Namco Museum - PSP (Japanese Version) Ridge Racer DS - DS Super Mario 64 DS - DS All of em have cases, manuals, everything, and are in pretty ridiculous pristine condition, since I got them all around when I stopped playing videogames. Further scouring, I have some Final Fantasy 8 action figures, again, silly condition, a bunch of random pcmcia 2.4G wifi cards, some Neon Genesis Evangelion kubrick figures in boxes, the ipod/powerbook/ibook world adapter set, and a usb-midi cable adaptery thing. Does anyone want any of this crap? Also, does anyone have any desire to spend some time with me? I'm feeling pretty lonely on and off for various reasons, and I'd really like to get out some. Especially if it doesn't cost money! (since yknow, the whole broke thing...) ~nicoles
