Tue, May 27, 2008 - 1:04 PMOk so now that I have figured out this video thing, I have discovered a new use for it. Help me with a costuming issue!
Below is a video of my new dready things that I made. They are going with my new white costume that I'm in the process of making. You can see how they are being attached to my head, on that little headband and my hair is pulled into a bun. The problem is, as you will see, they falls... fall off the bun lol
Even when I tried just wrapping the elastic headband around the bun it didn't stay, and the falls were almost a foot longer of course because I made them to fit over my entire head.......... any suggestions?

You could wear one of those bald head caps. No bun problem there ;P

My first thought would be to use hairpins / bobbypins to pin the falls over your bun. A tip I read recently was to get the bun as flat as possible.
Another thought I had was - use a matching thread and lightly/loosely stitch together the strands that go over the bun. |

you know, I actually considered one of those caps lol!
The sewing thing is a really good idea, but I think I would have to get someone else to do it for me... hmmm I have lots of time to figure this out is the good thing. I will have to think on it some more... I'm hoping to have hairsticks too, do you think they would help keep the hair up around the bun? |

They would make it fall like a horses tail in back and then the sides would be straight down giving it this really gap-y look , if that makes any sense. Which helped to remind me, horse hair. That's one of the things thats coming tomorrow that I forgot about! You might want to put off your order a couple of days. I should be hearing from the eyelash people tomorrow about an ETA and there have got to be some sort of goodies coming tomorrow that I still don't remember.
