The next Ableton Live workshops at MOOG Audio (442 Queen St. W., Toronto, ON.) are scheduled for Sunday, December 2, 2007.
The Basic Ableton Techniques workshop will take place from 1-3PM, covering:
- Audio Clips: Basic Warping and Looping for Musicians and DJs;
- Building a Live Set, Assigning Automation and Jamming Live;
- Recording your Performance;
- Introduction to Live's included Instruments and Effects;
- Navigating and Using the Browser, Transport Controls, Master Settings, Preferences and Defaults.
The Advanced Ableton Techniques workshop will take place from 3:30-5:30PM, covering:
- Audio Clips: Advanced and Creative Warping and Looping using Envelope Automation, Launch Modes, Dummy Clips and Follow Actions;
- MIDI Clips: Step Sequencing, Live Recording and Punch-Out Looping;
- The Mixer: MIDI and Audio Routing Techniques, Creative Bussing, Implementing Sends and Returns;
- Arrange View: Recording and Editing your Performance, Advanced Automation, Track Freezing, Flattening, and Rendering;
- Using Live's included Instruments and Effects, Utilizing Instrument and Effect Racks with Macro Controls, Implementing 3rd-Party VSTs and VST-Is.

Noah's techno sets are the reason I became a techno DJ! It's true. In particular the Eschatonality mix CD from '99 - that was the door to a new world of music for me. And I never looked back.
He's always got a smile, a kind word, and the sudden, random bubble of off-beat humour that reminds you that the still waters of his surface run deep deep deep like the music he creates.
