In battling evil, excess is good; for he who is moderate in announcing the truth is presenting half-truth. He conceals the other half out of fear of the people's wrath.

'Narcotics and Dissecting Knives' "He is excessive and fanatic to the point of madness. Though he is an idealist, his literary aim is to poison the mind of the youths.... If men and women were to follow Gibran's counsels on marriage, family ties would break, society would perish, and the world would become an inferno peo... read more

Symbolism Used by the Huichols By Angela Corelis and adapted here from her "The Huichol Center for Cultural Survival" with her kind permission. Tacutsi Amara, Goddess of Life, is the Mother Goddess. From her have sprung all life forms; humans, animals and plants. Tacutsi not only gives life to all she nurtures, but teaches a manner of life pleasant to the Gods. Tatewari is Grandfather Fire, instructor of shamans, giver of light, hat,... read more
I have tried the people pleezer thingy and it hasn't worked well for me. I want to do what I want when I want. Nothing is ever that easy is it? My art show took me enough time to learn many lessons in this life.

The biggest lesson... Glad I don't burn bridges in real life. Why? I might have been arrested as a terrorist. I found that you never know who you might need a favor from in the future... so its good to keep all your eggs in a basket, and don't throw them out unless they reall... read more
Raising three kids and mastering my art, hey it wasn't a bad life... poor but not bad. I chose to live close to home to protect my children. As an artist, people accepted me as a poor artist... but not so much as a poor mother. Too bad the world still treats women without a man like outcasts.

Part of my show. ©MNDesigns LLC Well, its in the process of rising from the ashes now. I am tired and wondering if it will come together. Its been interesting to watch the dance between then and now. My art is so personal, I have a hard time showing it. Actually, its how much do I want to spend to let people look at my art? It takes so much money and time to show art. Everyone thinks its just a matter of putting these things on a wall and then wait... read more

about me
I have been consciously creating sacred art for over 20 years. I found my destiny in what at the time seemed like a happenstance encounter with the Wixaritari in 1990. Little did I know my adventure to join the Gathering of the Eagles in Nambe Pueblo would change my life. Within hours of my arrival, my camp was joined a group Wixaritari from Santa Catarina, spending the next few weeks sharing stories and art in what they described as from the beginning times.
During those days, I learned about the meaning of art according to the Wixaritari, which overall function is to communicate with the Gods or their ancestors. In the art, each band of color represented a doorway or portal in which the Maraakame (Shaman) travels to the spirit world and in which to return. Traditionally, every action in the creation of this art is a prayer. When I expressed similarities of experience with the Wixaritari, I was greeted with laughter and told that was because we had met since the beginning times where all is one. At the end of this encampment, I was invited to join the Wixaritari in their homeland which I promised I would do when my household duties with my children were fulfilled. With this time come to fruition, in March of 2006, I started a journey back to the beginning times where we are all one. * Wixaritari [Huicholes] is the plural form of Wixarika [Huichol]
