I shall take my honorable place among the many ladies that has left comments on Brian's Testimonials.
From far away he has taught me to paragraph, because as he calls it, I am a "sentence hog", introduced me to blues and underground hip hop, so that I have a collection that my teenage son is envious of. Therefore increasing my "cool mom" factor at home. Every now and then I get to touch a piece of New Orleans, an exotic place I have yet to visit.
He's my 8-5, Monday through Friday, confidant and entertainment as I drudge through the "Office Space" environment of my job.
His tales of female conquests and evening dramas are enough to base a sitcom on (except it would have to be on HBO...or actually more like Skinamax!! :0)
I feel blessed to of gotten sucked into his addiction of internet conversations. May it be used for venting of the unfairness of life or advise and a second opinion..its always done light hearted and with plenty of humor.
He is an extremely emotionally talented man, and if you happen to fall under his amorous spell...enjoy it while you can...and then run far away. Because he associates with girls that will one day snap and boil his bird Charlie Parker in a pot before he gets home.
And when the crickets chirp and cicadas' sing I will think of him and one day I will visit New Orleans and we will listen to the Black Snake Moan CD as were swinging in our hammocks drinking lemonade and ice tea and smoking something that you roll with your hands.
Oh by the way Brian....WHERE IS MY DAMN TAG BACK PACKAGE...shhheeessshhhh...slacker

Don't be fooled, Brian is definitely an asshole. He's also one of the sweetest EX boyfriends I've ever had. He's smart, brutally honest, foul mouthed, funny and has the prettiest eyes. He'll also keep you up all night doing dumb shit. :P

I love Brian. It's official. I am destined to ride on the handle bars of his bike and go to underground hip hop shows with him for the rest of my life.

I found Brian on the Sage Francis tribe. He was one of only twelve other people on that tribe. It was fate that we became friends. Since then he's been my late night, drunk, weekend phone call buddy. And he'll be my future baby's daddy too...jk...no I'm not.

Drifted away from Tribe.
I'm cool with Tribe, but wow, guess I just spend more time elsewhere.
All the "down for maintenance" notifications kind of turned me off.
Glad to see it's still around, though.

Well, not really.
But this morning I wore my Louisville Bats hat and t-shirt on a trip to the free health clinic. While waiting for my appointment in the lobby, a woman asks me, "Excuse me, do you play for the Bats?"
I reply with some sarcasm, "Oh, yeah. Brian Lopez, #74, I play shortstop."
She exclaims, "I thought you looked familiar! Hey, Rico, come over here," she waved who I assume is her son- no older than 7- to us and says, "Rico, this is Brian Lopez. He's a famous baseball pl...

Antoinette K-Doe, the irrepressible widow of rhythm & blues singer Ernie K-Doe who transformed the Mother-in-Law Lounge into a living shrine and community center, died early Tuesday after suffering a massive heart attack. She was 66.
"It was her personal mission to keep his memory alive," said Ben Sandmel, who is writing a biography of Ernie K-Doe. "But she also did so much for the community. It's a huge loss for the whole musicians' community of New Orleans."
Born Antoinette Dorsey, Mr...

Just to let you know I'm not dead and really working on my record: I uploaded an instrumental track in progress for the song, "Underdog Rock," which will be on my upcoming album. This is not the final track by any stretch and I'm fairly new to production, so I'm still getting a hang on making beats.
Go to www.myspace.com/donlibido , give the track a listen, let me know what you really think (I have a thick skin).
Thanks ahead,
Brian

“When you want to start planning on building your career, family and future beyond next week, how ‘cool’ the city you live in means less to you. Or 'cool' starts to mean ‘Hey, people here don't try to mug me/shoot me/rob my apartment/get drunk and hit my car every 5 minutes!’” – Amy J. (former co-worker and friend, discussing my then upcoming move from NOLA to Louisville, 9/10/08)
Been living in Louisville for just over a month now. Still adjusting to the culture shock (while New Orleans i...

about me
Born in Los Angeles, lived in New Orleans for many years, now live in Louisville, write to pay my soul, travel to feed my senses. Working on a novel right now. Like, right now. Have no idea when that'll be complete. _Was_ the guardian of a 4 year old lizard named Morrison. A few pictures of the boy are in the photos section. He passed away on 6/14/05. My other activities include trying new beers, talking to derelicts and reading whatever people felt like writing in public restrooms. I'm a Scorpio. Respect that.
