Chriz is a fascinating individual who always seems to have some great ideas and greater joie de vivre. I wish I'd spent more time with him in the 403, but its another couch to crash on in the YYZ.

i hereby testify that this man is one of the most intelligent, inspiring, and passionate people i know. furthermore, he's a great photographer, cook, writer, friend, clown (better than me), host, adventurer, stiltwalker and stilt teacher, ok he's the only stilt teacher i know.... and, well, i love getting to be his friend. and so far we've never even lived in the same city! not for long though.

about me
I'm a young journalist, compulsive wanderer, on-line news junkie, reformed luddite, six-time burner, social musician, and devout agnostic and much more. I expend my creative energy on research, fire spinning, building strange lamps, cooking, writing creative non-fiction, high-adreniline bike commuting, and the drivel of daily news.
I've just been uploading a pile of old artisitc photos onto the site. According to my CreativeCommons.org contract, you are welcome: * to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work * to make derivative works For your own bizzare creative genius under the following conditions: -Attribution. You must give the original author credit. Or just tell me you used it. Artists are vain, electrons are cheap. -Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes. - Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one. * For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. As in, don't take this for free and let someone else down the line slap their copyright on it to make money. * Any of these conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder. Your fair use and other rights are in no way affected by the above.

I'll be camping between 7 and 7:30 on C. Or something like that. Ask for Canadians, or Poutine Camp, or a big mural on the side of an RV saying 'Come Unite, Come Ignite.'

Meet me in the dust? Let's go dancing.
I came up with this for a friend, as a more creative way to complain about working as an news editor on Day 8 out of 12:

"A break? A break? Could a servant of the Royal be so disloyal?" The Queen of the News shrieked in anger. "You're life is to serve me and all the breaking news of the kingdom." "But please," said Alice, "surely everyone must need a break sometime." "Time? Time? Do you think time is confined to a ticker, a clicker, a ticker-tick-tock in a little clock box?" The News... read more
So it's Halloween, and I'm dressed in a tux and tails, headed to my local hardware store, picking up some Coleman's for tonight's performance.

I make it to the cashier line when I notice everyone staring at the guy at the counter. He was a little incoherent, and changing accents as he speaks. At first I thought he was just crazy, and then I realized he was repeating back everything the Chinese-Canadian shop owner was saying with a Mickey-Rooney-in-Breakfast-at-Tiffaney's-style 'Chinese' a... read more

Funny to lose track of the news cycle, like watching a train disappear on the horizon... I don't know if the Armenian thing has passed the house. I don't know how many stupid things the Prime Minister said that were really just posturing and don't actually affect anyone. I can't tell you the current death toll of one war zone or natural disaster. How wi... read more
This isn't a very personal post... I haven't made one for a long time, so I should do that soon.

But I wanted to post up some notes from a project I just started. I'm planning to shoot a documentary in Second Life, the multi-player game. I'm thinking of a title called 'Second Life and the search for Happiness'. I want to go around as an outsider and do interviews with various users about why the place appeals to them so much. Why would you rather spend time in your second life than your f... read more
