The Seahorse Effigy Burning

The seahorse engulfed in flames. It took so long to topple (at least *I* was getting anxious, we thought it would burn faster) that I was sitting there going, "C'mon, FALL, I have to pee!"

Takes a lot to burn through that one solid beam at the tail.

The temple (Basura Sagrada) had that this summer. The structure mainly relied on several 8 or so inch beams. There was a lot of really small driftwood kindling stuff that lit up and burned away real quick, but no medium stuff to keep it going. Even though they made a bunch of cuts in it, the structure hung on for quite a while. I just wanted it to fall over so that I could go to bed!

Yeah, we used a 4x4" beam for the central support (2x4s for most of the rest) and I'm guessing it took about 30 minutes (maybe shorter, hopefully no longer) to collapse. Really glad Heidi and Quentin and others started running around the circle when they did, I kinda figured it had really fallen at that point and was wondering how we'd move to the next phase. Live and learn...
