<div>Alright alright, so I know what your thinking. Dude, WTF? It's like next week and you haven't gotten your ticket yet? Slacker!

Right right.

So if anyone knows anyone with 2 extra BM tickets, please point them in my directions. I'm not looking for a super deal (although, I'm open for it!, lol) and have cash ready to pay the person.

My primary reason for posting here is to try and avoid buying tickets on craigslist because they might be fake.

Thanks guys!</div>

										<div>*** Outpost23 presents IGNITION! ***

Saturday August 4th
$15 at the Door :: 9PM - 6AM
Underground San Francisco Venue
Bar Open All Night ;)

A big hello to all of you lovely people basking in this awesome summer weather from we, the members of Outpost 23. Can you feel it? Can you hear the faint whisper? It's the playa, and she knows it's almost time for her children to come home. In the spirit of getting ready for our yearly trek out to the desert, we'd like to bring you all together for an evening of entrancing music to get your heart moving and feet warmed up for that dusty yet heavenly land. Please, come join Outpost 23 for our Burning Man fundraiser "IGNITION!"

In return, we'll leave you with a sense of enlightenment that will carry you all the way into Black Rock City. As a bonus, all proceeds from this party are going to be going to our new playa project, the BOOMBUS! The BoomBus is the new brainchild of the Outpost 23 crew. Over the last few years, we've come to realize that although many burners loved our playa theatre of hard thumpin' beats at all hours of the night, our neighbors didn't always share this sentiment. Based on that, it came down to one option: this show needs to be taken on the road! That's right folks...this year we're going to be bringing the hard pumping, full-on style right to your doorstep, and we need your help to make it happen!

For the purpose of this special pre-playa evening, we've arranged a delectable lineup that will keep you rockin' from the moment you walk in until your third wind tells you it's time to go home, and perhaps a bit longer.

Audial Wizards:

For those of you who graciously joined us for our fundraiser last year, you'll remember the awesome venue known as "The Cave". The owners have been kind enough to renew our nightly lease, so expect a great dance floor, bar, ventilation, and some incredible sound. Please visit www.outpost23.org for directions the day of the party. We can't wait to see all of your smiling faces!</div>

Back From Bombay!

<div>I left for Bombay on Jan. 2nd to attend one of my dearest friend's wedding. I was really excited to be going back for two reasons: 1) I love Bombay - my heart truely resides in that city and 2) This was the first time in my life I was going for a wedding, where both the bride and groom were really close friends of mine. I didn't know what to expect, so I went with an expectation of going with the flow of things.

I arrived in the midst of a full blow Indian wedding with every single one of my close friends there, from all around the world. Everybody was in an amazing mood that exuded the happy vibe of a proper wedding. Indian weddings are quite different from those that we're used to out here. Firstly, they span a couple days - there are around 3 or 4 events that lead up the wedding and then the receiption after the wedding. It all starts with the bachelor's party, which was as you can picture it - strippers, lots of booze, and an amazing amount of currency being throw on the strippers. A great way to start of the celebrations.

Next up was an event called a "Ross". This was a Catholic event for the groom. The point is to douse the groom with coconut milk and eggs (think high school homecoming week, where you get to throw eggs at your class juniors), this was really fun. It ended with a close group of friends drinking until the early hours of the morning.

I woke up the next day, at around 3pm, still drunk and fully in a haze. There was no time for this of course as this was the day of the Sangeet. I suppose tradionally a Sangeet is where the groom's side of the family meets the bride's side of the family to get better aquainted. That's what it's supposed to be like, in this case it was a full blown party with close friends and family. We danced to main stream hindi and US/UK pop music, until 3am, when the psy trance started to blast :). We then headed back to the grooms house and danced until 6am.

Rinse and repeat - I woke up the next day at around 1pm, again in a drunken haze and in a jolly mood. This was the big day, the day of the wedding. I quickly put on the tradional Indian clothes for a wedding, grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels I picked up at Seoul duty free and jolted out the door to meet my friends. We hopped in the car, drinking the Jack all the way to the location of the wedding. This is where things got interesting. The groom's side of the wedding arranges an event called a Bharat. This is where the groom and his side of the family, plus his closest friends, dance on the streets, with a full blown band, all the way to the location of the wedding.

So here we are, mid day in Bombay, with a nice buzz going, in a group of around 50, dancing in the middle of the one of the busiest streets in downtown Bombay. Talk about a celebration. Mid way throught the dancing the groom jumped up on to a horse that carried him the rest of the way, while all of us in the group danced in front of the horse all the way to the location of the wedding.

The wedding itself was quite a serious deal, as you can imagine an emotionally weighted procession of events leading up the union of two people. A bit to serious for me, being a cynic of marriage and all but elegant in its own regard. After the wedding the partying took off again and ended at around 7am. In between the grooms father (a person I have know all my life and treated with the regard you give a friends parent) was pouring scotch, straight from the bottle, in to my mouth - good times.

The receiption was more of the same, drinking and dancing until 7am. By this point my liver was begging for a break - nay, it was begging for this type of indulgence to never happen again (fat chance). The highlight of the receiption were the number of toast's given by the couple's closest friends. People were in tears, the deal was sealed, all that was left to do was celebrate for one more night.

The extravagance in celebarting this marriage really hit me. It was such a beautiful thing that I had never experienced before in my life. Yet it was something that felt so natural, perhaps from growing up with Indian parents, or perhaps my general willingness to have a good time. What ever it was, it hit home, and really made me feel jubilated having been part of it.

A couple more days of hanging out with friends and family and it was time to head back home, or at least I thought it was. I went to the airport with a confirmed ticket and was denied boarding because the flight was over sold. It made think of how the airline industy was unique in this aspect - they can actually sell more seats than they have available (by 20%!). So me and about 11 others were told to come back two days later and try our chances on the same flight. We did and for the second time were rejected. Mind you, this is after paying for a full fare ticket and being told by the airline itself, that we were confirmed. To add to to it the airlines staff on the ground were extremely rude and unwilling to help in any way. What a crock of shit.

The next morning I had to purchase another ticket back home and left Bombay that night. This part of my trip really left a sour taste in my mouth. There should be some reform in the airline industry that makes it so they cannot sell more seats than they have available (this sounds like a lesson in common sense for crying out loud).

I'm really happy to be back home but of course I'm missing the good time that I had, the magnitude of which I'm still trying to grasp. After spending a full weekend in bed recovering from a fever and cold, it's time to get back to normal life. In the midst of the wedding, normality was a dimension that wasn't even acknowledged. Perhaps that's why it's so hard to get back to the grind.

Good times :)

    </a>
										<div>To quote Squaremeat and Texas Faggot: “That was the best party we played in the US.”

I can't believe the great energy at the party - leaves me speachless just thinking about it.

A HUGE THANK YOU! to every single beautiful person that came out and danced full power last night! The energy all through out the night and morning was beyond amazing.

A massive thanks to all the DJ's. Timo and Pepe - like Ra said - had the best time playing last night. My heart dropped when they said it was the best party they had played in, in the USA. This is why I love our scene!

A personal thanks to everyone who danced full blast during my set. The energy level was off any measurable scale, thinking about it makes me smile like a child :)

The music and people made this one really special.

A very special, family thanks, to OP23. You guys are amazing and I'm so happy we can share and create these special experiences.

A heartfelt and sincere thank you again!

See you guys on the playa. "The Future" is looking quite bright ;)

										<div>Woohoo! Ever since I can remember I've wanted to be a pilot. This morning the dream was realized after I passed the private pilot checkride. The months of studying, the hours of preparation, and the resulting hours of anticipation all fully recognized by passing this ride.

I still can't believe it...

    </a>
										<div>Sniffly, stuffy, congested, drained, irritated, itchy, disoriented....

A couple weeks ago I was dreaming of weather like this. I was looking forward to the day when I could put on shorts and a t-shirt, with a pair of slippers and be on my merry way. The day came, the shorts were on, the kleenex was packed neatly in to every cargo pocket.

By nature I am not an envious person. However, lately I have been gazing with envy at the people running about, in their shorts and t-shirts, in the great weather - enjoying the day, and the beautiful weather, as everybody should be doing. They don't look sniffly, they don't look congested, and they look anything but irritated.

God I hope this passes soon :(. I hate feeling miserable when the earth is in such good spirits.

On a happier note - I cannot wait until this weekend!

<div>Happy Thanksgiving from us at SYNCHRONIZE! For those of you who will be in the city tonight, and not delayed at some airport in middle America, we'd like to invite you to our Turkey Day celebration. It doesn't involve turkey, but definitely includes phat beats, along with drinking and chaotic bouncing. :)

This week's guest is Bombay's implant to San Francisco (and thank goodness he's here), OBU! One of SF's best DJs, and known for having tunes that won't see the shelves for another six months, Obu always rocks the house, and tonight, will rock ours. We've been waiting a while to have him come back, and we're glad to have him kick some ass at Il Pirata. This week's resident Synchronaut will be SENTIENT, opening up your chakras with some opening set grooves.
