about me
I'm your average over-achiever, trying to find himself and leave his mark on the world. I'm sweet and sarcastic, I love making other people laugh, and I'm double-jointed. I was dealt a pretty good hand in life, and I try not to squander it.
I've been described as 'a solution waiting for a problem to happen.' I would lay across railroad tracks for my friends if they needed me to, and I hate it when people insinuate that family (meaning blood relatives) are the most important people in life. I think we can create our own families, regardless of to whom we were born. I'm a part-time acupuncture student. For my job, I run an outreach program for people with HIV. I realized that making money or having a fancy title isn't as important as feeling good about what you do at the end of the day. Sometimes I can be mean, but it's usually because I'm trying to be funny. I try not to be careless with other people's feelings, and I'm totally shy about making the first move.

For posterity I should also include my Paternal grandmother in the year of death. She passed away a few days after my birthday in January, three weeks before my mother. I didn't have the time or wherewithal to blog about her before the whole clusterfuck of the past few months. She was almost 95, and suffered a catastrophic stroke in early January. After she passed, I went to New York and had family time with my aunt and my sister Dara, who was in Newark for a trial.

I can't remember what it was like to be joyful. It would help if you made me a mix tape.
