This image "came through me" in 1996. Immediately the idea of a "larger flag to fly" resonated with others. Much personal and heartfelt correspondence attesting to the call and the need for an image that inspires us above the downside of nationalism and egocentrism continue to pour in, especially in the wake of such jolts to the collective consciousness as the US going into war in Iraq, the events of 9/11, etc. To-date supporters have chimed in from over 45 countries.
