My Blog

Time for resting.

Well, I am sick and have been for the past few days. Usually, I just ignore it and keep going with my normal life. The problem with this method is that the cold Never Goes Away! I had my last cold hanging around for at least three or four months. It would flare back up anytime I exerted myself. So this time I'm trying a new method. I'm going to take time to heal. Maybe this will be the better method in the long run. Right now, however, it is driving me crazy!!! I have barly left the house in two days and I am going shack wacky!!!
I am usually up being active and doing things but yesterday I was so sick that I felt faint whenever I got up. Today I'm better and getting bored! I have got to find things around the house to do before I go insane!!!
Anyway, I hope this down time thing works for the cold.
And when I'm well, I'll be back out and up to my usual pace :-)

A bad day to balance off an incredablely wonderful weekend

Well, It can't all be sunshine and lollypops. i guess I had my share of the wonderful stuff all weekend with a burn on thursday, a bikeride and barbq on friday, the work less party party on Sat and a relaxing day at home with my man on sunday.
But today is the worst day I've had in a while.
It started off so well. I woke up at 6:00 and the sun was already up. There was cerial and even orange juice for breakfast and then I got to go out into the glorious day.
On my was to work, my dad called me from Nova Scotia which was lovely - at least at first.
We ended up getting into a stupid little argument that started the downward spiral of my day.
During my first class of the morning, grade 9 math, I made a mistake when I was going over a homework problem with the class. This isn't the end of the world and it happens, but the reaction of one student in the class made it bad. The student gave me a really hard time, hinting that I was just a bad teacher. Hearing that was hard for me to take because it is important to me to do the best I can for the students.
So, after that class, I met another teacher in the photocopy room. During our conversation, she pretty much told me that she thought that I dressed the way I do because I'm too poor to afford anything else. Now, I don't take particular stock in what I wear and I am happy to wear natural fibres when I can but I didn't think that I looked that bad.
Then, after me next class, I went down to the cafeteria to buy some lunch. I was held up helping students and by the time I got down there, there was no food left at all!
So, I went to the local safeway to grab a sandwich and wolf it down before my next class.
On my way to the safeway, I recieved a phone call from the credit card people that my numbers have been compromised and they are temporarily shutting down my account. So - no money.

Well, that is it so far. Maybe I should just go home and lay down for the rest of the day.
