hey charla!
sorry you are still not feeling well.

Whenever I have sinus/nose/lung congestion I do the following:
-a few times a day I fill a small glass with a little salt and hot water and snort the water through each nostral. If the water is warm and salty, it won't hurt- it gets soooo much out and stops it from getting to my throat. I used to get 3-week long sore throats EVERY TIME i would get a cold but once I started doing this, I havn't had a bad sore throat in 2 years now.

-if my sinuses are feeling infected (pressure, colored snot, etc) I add a few drops of oil of oregano to my steam (make sure you keep your eyes closed") it is anti-biotic and works great. a drop in a glass of warm saltwater snorted is VERY effective but a little painful.

-my favorite herbs for cold and flu are: yerba santa (it's a great decongestant but you only need a little leaf or two) coltsfoot (all around great for congestion- great mixed with yerba santa because it helps you not dry out your nose) yarrow(to help brake fevers) licorice root (sweetens up your tea, helps with stress and also is a good expectorant) all these herbs just need a few teaspons per cup. licorice root should be brought to boil from cold while the others should be added right when the heat is turned down from boil and let sit for 10+ minutes.

When I have influenza, the main herb that deals with aches and pains, fever, congestions is Bone set (Eupatorium perfoliaum, I think) only 2 teaspoons or less for a cup of water drunk as hot as possible throughout the day. (i've heard every half an hour during fever, but less after the fever is over.)

Hope that helps, Charla!
