<div>I think he's a better dog for having been with us, and we're smarter pet owners for having had him. Chupi is glad to have his garage and yard back, and it's nice to be able to leave the house and not worry about a tragedy happening in your absence. But as correct as I know the decision is, sending him away still leaves an empty spot inside.

He's going to another home, not a kennel, and nobody is dying so it's not like Old Yeller or anything, but dammit, I love that dog. And you know a dog is special if the ultimate kitten (a.k.a. Diva) falls in with him despite the fact he gives her hives.

Oh well, live and learn, and good luck to a great dog who just needs to find his home.

P.S. - Thank you everyone that offered help in so many ways to Amy and me!</div>

Holy Shit, I'm Human Again

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/oznog/blog/f824ee61-9b8d-45cc-bd65-d65b7d014f97">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/609/9fa/6099fa73-e3a2-4084-99b4-c84725f8645c.thumb" width="61" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>After enjoying a perfectly executed Steak and BJ Day (thank you Amy!!!!!), I fell into a deep slumber/coma for 12 hours, the first real, unhurried, unworried sleep I've had in close to 3 weeks. I feel like a normal human being again, and my brain is finally capable of reflecting on everything that's gone on.

Much like going to the playa itself, the preparation, set-up, and break-down involved with Massive was almost more significant than the abbreviated event itself. I grew up doing manual labor, and I'm at my best and most comfortable sitting at the controls of a forklift, boots on my feet, gloves on my hands and dirt on my face. It's astonishing how much work we put into that building, clearing out 3 massive bays, moving literally tons of steel and equipment, turning it into a party venue, then turning it back into a (much cleaner) workspace. I am so very, very proud of what Dustfish and all of our friends and family accomplished. Everyone pushed themselves well past their normal limits for this with no whining, bitching, or complaining. All of you rock, and I would throw in on any project, no matter the size, with any of you in a heartbeat.

The party itself was such a whirlwind, and I was just starting to settle in and relax when all hell started breaking loose with our 'friends' in blue. There were about 15 conversations that I started but never finished, so if I blew you off at the party, please accept my apologies. Even after the space cleared out, I was still having fun, hanging out with Gooferman, getting what amounted to a private fire show from the Fuegos, swinging around on the borg bar, it's tough to beat any of that.

Going forward, I've got three major things going on that I'm very excited about. The first is starting a new job on Monday at Latham &amp; Watkins, one of the biggest law firms in the world. I've been at my current job for 5 1/2 years, and it's well past its expiration date. The second thing is getting back to work on classes to get into business school. The third, and probably most exciting, is getting back into Dan Das Mann's shop to help with Crude Awakening, their biggest project yet. It's going to be the tallest thing on the playa and will literally blow you away. We're going to need alot of help, so get out there to Oakland and I'll personally teach you how to weld steel, drive a forklift or operate a 12 ton crane. </div>

20 minute history of the Amen Break, a 6 second drum sample that you'll instantly recognize and has shown up in just about every breakbeat composition you can think of. This is a 20 minute video tracing the sample as it spawned whole new genres of music. The speaker is about as boring as whale shit (apologies to any and all whale shit enthusiasts), and there's not much to look at, but it's an interesting listen.</div>

<div>Talk about an interesting day. It seems large, conservative corporate banks don't like their new hires showing up 2 hours late 3 time in the first 20 days. So today they politely excused me from the necessity of waking up at 6:45am every goddamn day to go to beautiful and scenic Oakland for the sole pleasure of sitting in a grey cube and jumping through their beloved beauracratic hoops all day long. Now, considering this is the first time I've ever been fired, I was a little distraught. For about 20 minutes. Then I called the boss at my old law firm job in SF, and it turns out the girl they hired to replace me when I left was about as sharp as a marble. So I'm going back to good ol Freeland Cooper &amp; Foreman on a part time basis, where I can actually IM at work, wear jeans on Friday, and get a view of the Bay instead a view of the local crackhouse. Yeah yeah, that may not sound like much, but believe me, right now it feels like I escaped from a P.O.W. camp. That fucking bank should be nuked from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Now if anybody is willing to pitch in and help me build a small mode of rapid transit between Pacifica and SF, feel free to let me know. It seems that cars and haven go together like fire and more fire.</div>
