Temple Burn

It has taken me this long to wade through what I went through and continue to go through after this years playa adventure. I still cannot completely comprehend all of my feelings but will try my best to sum it up a little. The whole experience of Basura Sagrada was a journey for me. I was at a time in my life where I was floating. This project landed on my lap so to speak and it was exactly what I needed to evolve to where I am now. In my position as volunteer coordinator I had the privilege of speaking with hundreds of people that the temple already touch without even us painting one dot. Through out this whole process I have a expanded base of friends that I call family. Everyone of you has touched my life in a deep way no matter how little contact we had. A few of the all stars: Medina, Shira,Candice, Brent, Tucker, Andrew. Dr Wunderlich,Shrine, Genevive, Brando, Big JIm,Edward, Jessica, Matt, Linda,Patrick, Doug Sinclair, Matt (crane operator), Sean, Nikki,Kelsey, Foxy,Gabe, Jack, Guilia, Josh,Tim, Victoria, The whole groove bomb crew, I know there is more but thats all that comes to mind right now, plus everyone who gave me coffee when I needed it so. Doug Sinclair told me that I had wings, bright blue wings and even though I could not feel them I will someday because they are a apart of me. So many people looked at through those eyes this year, I had wings to many and by the end of Burning Man I was beginning to see them myself. This year was extemely difficult. I worked the whole time, whether DPW or the temple I was so quiet. I did not see any art, nor did I see any friends besides the ones I was camped with. But I made over a 100 new friends through out my time there. I laughed and I cried, died and was reborn again. I know what direction I want to take in my life and have the vision to take it. As Medina said the bar has been raised. I want to create and provide to the community that I call home. When I returned from the playa I entered into a state of confusion about what to do next, I then realized that it is up to me to create something new, to put that energy out that I want for my next project. The sadness lingers still for I miss my new family terribly. I'm still not entirely clear where I will go from here, it is still vauge but getting clearer. I'm on my way to Gerlach today, working for the Temple and DPW 30 days of dust, I've never been out there that long before SOOOO We are thinking of either camping behind Nexus or in or around Temple camp not sure yet but we'll be around those camps regardless so you'll be able to find us see you in the dust!!!!!!!

I leave on Tuesday for the playa It's been a journey to this place, a beautiful one at that. I was at American Steel this weekend for my last work weekend for the temple at the warehouse. It's going to be such a change to see it being assembled on playa. All the pieces that we sat on the dirty, dirty floor for hours patiently painting dots upon dots is all going to be worth it. As I drove my car away this morning heading back to Santa Cruz knowing that this was the last time I would be at American Steel in this capacity a tear started to form, then another. I cannot express in words how beautiful and amazing this project has been for me. I've grown closer to existing friends and made new ones, I've learned a lot more about what I want in my life, and I've grown as a person. plus I learned how to drive s tick shift (thanks Big Jim!) So I'll see you all in the dust, if you get this in the next couple of days send me the details on where you are camping! And please, please come see the temple. It's a labor of love on all parts. Brandon and I will be somewhere around or in temple camp, so look for us there. My Computer Crashed

yes right at critical time in my life my laptop goes south it's at the computer doctor right now awaiting assessment If you know anyone thats a mac genius, send them my way I'm hoping to fix this for cheaper than they tell me I gots lots of projects on my plate including the Temple (I leave in 3 weeks!!) If I could get my trusty lady back soon it would save my world

It's getting crunch time before Burning Man and I need to try and make some extra $$$ before I leave August 5th!!!! I'm a nanny now, in the past I worked in restaurants, offices, salons, garden, cleaning houses. I'm also experienced in catering and special events production I'm not looking for long term work, just something to make some quick cash! I live in Santa Cruz and would prefer to find work locally. Do you live in Santa Cruz and wishing that you had a cute,snuggly little kitten to add to your home??? Well look no further! We have 3 adorable kittens that need good homes here at the Rose Farm. We would keep them but we have too many animals already. There are 2 orange ones and one gray and white one, I think they are about 7 weeks old now and ready to go to a good home. If you are interested let me know, I can try and get a picture of them as well if you want to see what they look like. I'd like to keep them in the family so I know they have good homes but if you know someone that would be a rockstar kitty parent that could be fine as well.

Lightning in a Bottle

Many of you might have guessed that I was not at LIB, either that or you thought I was hiding pretty well. The fact of the matter is we decided to not attend LIB due to the possibility of the Santa Cruz Mountain fires burning our home down. It was pretty scary for a while, especially when our road was on the news for evacuation. It didn't feel right leaving everything we own and our cat behind. Then our power got shut off and that a whole other mess! We made it though, the fire's 70% contained. I was actually sad last night about LIB, the adreneline kept me moving but once it was safe I was able to mourn in a way for not being there to celebrate with my friends. So all those that wanted to see me, I am so sorry, I missed you all more than you will ever know! If you can take a minute to send some love to all the people that lost their homes.

Earrings for Sale!

I'm selling some of my 0 gauge earrings (note: I know the picture sucks, if you want a better shot I can try and send you one) The only reason why I'm letting go of them is I moved up to a 00 and can't really use them anymore. The black ones are horn, the other 2 are wood, one is blood wood and one is a striped wood. the purple plugs are amythest I think or another kind of purple stone (I got them at Braindrops), and the other ones are plain eyelets. I'm selling them all cheap around $20 or so, I'm sure we can work something out. I just don't have room for them and want them to go to a good home. (2nd note, I only cleaned them off with alcohol, I don't have cooties as far as I know. I'm not able to clean them any more deeply than that) If you are interested let me know, I live in Santa Cruz or I can ship them if you want

Ok family and community there is a big push for me to get help on this, it's not for me really it's for the temple project I need a spreadsheet program, excel if I can get it or any other program that will read and edit xls. or cvs. files This is extremely important, I do not have such a program on my computer and in order for the process of me dealing with volunteers, crew, and all the lists I need such a program and now. The catch, it needs to be free! yes free! the one thing we don't get much in this world. I'm not too god with computers but I learn fast, maybe if I can get a pirated copy of excel or something similar. I have a mac ibook about 4 years old. email me back if you can help!!!!!!

I thought that I'd throw this one out to the family first, I figure that out of my 500 friends someone has to know something about a cool job situation in Santa Cruz, or at least put me in the right direction. I've mostly worked in restaurants, was a general manager of a cafe in SF, an esthetician by trade, I also do event production. I'm involved in several different projects right now from the temple to LIB. I have 2 resumes an event production one and a regular one. Right now I'm open to anything, I just need some $$$ coming in soon. I thought if I shout out to the Fam first I may have a better chance of finding something cool and worth while instead of taking a shot in the dark from craigslist or driving around. I'm open to anything temp to permanent. I'll be around all summer to Aug 1st when I leave for Burning Man. I'll be back on Sept. 5th and going to stay solid in SC from then on. If ya know of something let me know much love

Reading Shira's blog about the temple made me think about it as well and prompted me to write a little something. It's all so simple really, I feel blessed to be working on it in this capacity. I'll be on playa Aug 8th to see it being built from the ground up. I get emails every day in my inbox from people so eager to volunteer their time. People from all walks of life, artisans, carpenters, welders, and people who have so much love that they say they'll learn and it doesn't matter if they have skills or not they'll get them. My partner is involved, a genius carpenter he's making the spiral staircases that will carry us to the top floor. It's all coming together. I'm excited to start building to meet the people that I do not know but I have spoken to over email. and to also get to know people better that I've only seen around the party scene. The vibe that is our community is already buzzing and coming closer and closer together. When tucker and I had a meeting he was saying about how he wanted this to be the project of our community not just for him and Shrine. Everyone is involved, everyone contributes. In a way I fee like that is the way that life should always be. It a blessing how all this came about as well, I want to do things like this for a living, make things happen for our community and others. Make art, make events, I've been doing events for a while but not something this big. If this works out whose knows what will be next, it's all exciting. It is time again for us to feel warmer weather on our faces, break out the sandals, lay in the grass. The seasons are changing which brings us spring, summer, and then Burning Man. It is an honor for me to be the volunteer coordinator for Basura Sagrada, the temple this year at Burning Man. Any art instillation requires many hours of man/woman power and a whole lotta love.
