Ocelli makes delicately woven etherial chamber folk music.
The slow-motion sound is vaguely Arctic with its roots under Portland.
The warm tone of instrumentation and vocals evoke melting and stillness.

The music is recorded in Moonbath Studios in Portland.

The new album, ‘Ocelli’ (Under the Underground), is comprised of vocals, guitar, violin, cello, piano, horns, keyboards, harp, acoustic and electro beats. The record and live performances feature arrangements by artists from the Oregon Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra, Storm and The Balls, Portland Opera, Chamber Music Society, March Forth Marching Band, Stalking Jane, Vagabond Opera and others. Ocelli performs as a revolving ensemble with 4 to 6 musicians...or solo.

What's in a name?

Note regarding the name Ocelli and the Symbol (heart, horns and halo)...

Ocelli: a Tool for navigation...

An ocellus (plural: ocelli) is a simple eye found on some insects. It is a miniature photo-receptor organ whose only function is to sense light. Thus, they are also called "simple eyes". Insects in particular have two types of ocelli: dorsal ocelli and lateral ocelli. Ocelli are involved (along with compound eyes) in the horizon-detecting response, decreasing the latency between horizon changes and the insect's response.

The heart, horns and halo symbol is an iconic archetypal representation of the human effort to Mythologize in-finite non-duality with duality…unified by heart. (All is full of love) It is a symbolic representation of the human experience that is marked with balancing and counter-balancing polarities that create an energy that repels us, cradles us and/or propels us forward. (e.g. alternating AC/DC current produces electricity...and...Centrifical Force produces momentum).
