India 2

   Mon, March 5, 2007 - 3:48 AM
As days turn into weeks and months since coming back, the imprint left on me by that country seems to fade. But just as you think those recollections are being totally smushed by the trash compactor of the brain's memory functions, you rediscover the mantras.

When you hit a particularly gloomy patch, there's nothing better for rediscovering happiness within, than listening to some repetitive chanting in a foreign language :-)

But seriously, this one (this randition is probably nothing new) brings it all back for me - the sights, the emotions - kind of like India in a handful.

Thought I'd share it with the interested, and if you have links to some other ones, do post a reply!

Shiva: Om Namah Shivay

This mantra has no approximate translation. It generally means Salutations to Lord Shiva. A very rough, non-literal translation could be something like, 'Om and salutations to that which I am capable of becoming.' This mantra will start one out on the path of subtle development of spiritual attainments.

India will laways be in your heart.
These kind of memories are trashed by the mind, but NOT by the heart.
Glad to kow you found something that centers you on moments of inbalance.
Thanx for sharing ;-P
