word up

April 27, 2008
i'm listening to your norooz mix.
i really like it, i put up my photos with it...the beginning, where he sings,
the tonbak...and the breathing.

i couldn't tell first it was persian..ke hast?

it takes me to somewhere i know...*aahkh joon* the tonbak..

then i feel like i'm in an ad when she speaks
is she telling a story..of what?

i'm taking a trip
in my mind..
in love when he sings-like god-these are the days

the ney is soft
..nafas bekesh

it could be a heavy load
she's there too
and everything surround them on their way
watching winds..he still breathes

that layering effect affects
it's a journey
he's strong..she listens and the ney...sings

it gets funky after that
and pretty real

it is a story with rhythm and point
no-thing is true

everything is..

In harmony with rebirth of nature, the Persian New Year Celebration, or Norooz, always begins on the first day of spring, March 20th of each year. Norooz ceremonies are symbolic representations of two ancient concepts - the End and Rebirth. About 3000 years ago Persian's major religion was Zoroastrianism, named in honor of its founder Zoroaster, and arguably the world's first monotheistic religion.

You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.

Where everything is music

Don't worry about saving these songs!

And if one of our instruments breaks,it doesn't matter.

We have fallen into the place where everything is music.

The daf the setar the flute, rise into the atmosphere, and even if the whole world's harp should burn up, there will still be hidden instruments playing.

So the candle flickers and goes out. We have a piece of flint, and a spark.

The singing art is a seafoam.

The graceful movements come from a pearl some where on the ocean floor.

Peoms reach up like spindrift and the edge of driftwood along the beach, wanting!

They derive from a slow and powerful root
That we can't see.

Stop the words now.
Open the window in the center of your chest, and let the spirits fly in and out.

Instead of geting lost in ecstasy be the ecstasy
