Just been going through some tough times which did not allow me to be the social butterfly I usually like to be. But after finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel I got together with a great friend at a great Med restaurant in Northridge for a little mezza and some hooka and great conversation. A good evening was had by all!!!

So I am on my way back to the continent again, whoooo hoooooo. Hanging out in Germany and which ever way the wind blows me while I am there. Visiting with family, friends and drinking most excellent German wine......mmmmmm that 's the stuff. while I was there last I took a few people through an impromptu beginning belly lesson and now it looks like I may be doing it again only more ladies in an actual class this time. WOW!!! its gonna be a blast. The only thing is that it gets cold there like we don't experience here but that is what wonderful knit scarves, layered clothing and ugg boots are for only to be followed by more German wine. I am counting down the days until I leave, its gonna be a blast!!!!

Sandra hosts a showcase at the Desert Rose Hookah lounge in North Hollywood and it is such a delightful place to be on a Saturday night. lovely dancers from all over and all varieties of dancing with great people there to watch and support. It is 25.00 for the show and a delicious buffet from the owners restaurant which they bring in and cook fresh right there on the grill. What a lovely time to enjoy the dancing, to dance or just to sit on the patio splitting a hookah with a friend and talking into the night. The owner Amir is a very lovely person and so welcoming. The show case happens on the 2nd Saturday and now on the last Saturday of every month as well

I just met the most amazing, graceful, gracious and stunningly beautiful Nakish. One awesome lady who was a pioneer in the dance. She was in So. Cal and I got to meet her. It was so refreshing to talk to with it. It was a wonderful opportunity.... I cannot wait for the intensive workshop in 2008. If you are not aware of who she is then you need to go to the Gilded Serpent and read the interview of Nakish by Sausan.

Started out in L.A. and got sidetracked by super heavy spring storms and Tornado threats, downed in DFW for and day and a half because of weather the first night and mechanical problems the second night which caused us to get a 5 hour delay of take off time. But as one of my co travelers said. "It is better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air instead of in the air wishing you were on the ground." Arrived in Frankfurt subsequently a day and 5 hours later than planned but it was worth it.

Frankfurt is a bustling city..but I am staying in the villages with quaint narrow little roads and old converted farmhouses that were built in the 1800's or before... it is very very quiet at night and you can walk down the street at 12 am and not be disturbed. The wines are to die for mmmmmmm. And there is nothing better than a macchiato and a shot of schnapps to finish off a good German meal. Next on the agenda is Paris (The City of Light) OMG the Eiffel Tower awaits and then some castle visiting and a cruise down the Rhine River. More to come. There will be photos trust me!!!!

Be Wary of this individual or this company soliciting business
VARUN SOLANKI or gauriartncraft@ india.com or Bellydance Wares in India they do not deliver they take the money and run and do not respond to any questions after order is placed. Do NOT trust them. I have done business with many international companys and this is the first time I have been ripped off. They take your money and do NOT deliver the goods. They give the international business community a bad name... Be Aware that they are crooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started the journey off in Casablanca where we got to see a brief tour of the city from the huge Hassan II Mosque on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean where we felt the brisk sea breezes blowing in against us and watched the winter waves crashing against the shore to the town square that everyone frequents on a Sunday afternoon. The people were delightful and amazing. I was constantly spoken to in French or Arabic from the time I hit the ground and I realized they all thought I was just coming home, What a connection!.

Rabat the capital was great but I think Fez was one of my favorites with its sprawling Medina that has been around for many many centuries since the medieval times. It is a beehive of activity and a veritable labyrinth that one could get easily lost in without a guide. There were some real treasures to be seen in the Medina from the beautiful Medersa to the tiny little Synagogue in the old Mellah. We went to Volubilis which is a very old Roman ruin and one of the best I have seen as they have taken great care to preserve it. I saw some of the best mosaics there it was awesome. This old Roman city is situated on a hill top over looking a sweeping valley in the Atlas Mountains and you can almost visualize how it probably was back in the day when this city was a hub of activity. We spent the day passing through the Atlas Mountains on the way to Marrakech where we saw fertile plains, sweeping valleys and quaint little towns like Ifrane which looks more like a Swiss skiing village. Marrakech has a charm all its own from the super hotels on the main boulevard to the awesome medina and the djmaa al fna square where you can see everything from acrobats, snake charmers, singers, dancers, vendors you name it.
There was not enough time to see everything and there was soo much to see. I will have to go back but this time I want to go south to Erg Chebi where the dunes lie. After all if one goes to Morocco one does need to see the Sahara yes?

Okay so I taped my 11th show the other evening with 3 wonderful musicians, Donavon whom we all know, and two newly introduced to me Okay Cihaner and Vedat Gorsoylu. Okay plays the Ney and the Kaval and Vedat is a master of the Sas (sic) It was a wonderful musically flavorful show that was also informative and educational. Now the total kicker is that I received a very enthusiastic call from a woman whose family is from Turkey.

She was very excited about the show and gave me great kudos.
It is always wonderful to get feedback from viewers. like that. She said she called all of her family and friends to get them to watch. Yeah thats what we like
