July 2009 15 of us had the priviledge of studying for 6 days with Elizabeth Artemis Mourat in her home in Maryland. I knew I would come away with a new feel for the rhythms, expanded Turkish move vocabulary and a broader knowledge of the Orientale and Romani. Little did I know the Intensive would change my life. This weekend dancing at The Texas Ren Fest with my new Sisters was unforgettable. My first opportunity to dance improv, to live music and at the Ren Faire! Silvia and Shunyata were great hostesses and thanks to them for allowing us to dance on their stage. Their shows were amazing and entertaining. The drinking dance is hysterical. I have been honored with an invitation to join the Sisters of Avalon! As a dynamic, creative, up and coming troupe I am so excited to become a part of the Sisterhood. I debuted with them at Vagabond Cirque this weekend in Houston. Next up is the Texas Renaissance Festival, Nov. 22-23. To be included within the dance energy and vibes they create is awesome. I have always enjoyed their performances and now I contribute. Life is just so good right now!
