Re: Are there no
(in SF BDSM)
Dude, in all sincerity...
It's not what you're into that's creepy, it's the way you present yourself. There are lots of different ways that you could have started a discussion about your kinks, and about meeting people to share them. The appr...

Nah, not so much into stomping. I'd much rather flay scrotums with my singletails. Pity I'm not a real sadist.

Re: Looking for a new moderator

OK. Tag, you're it.
I don't think there's a lot of work involved-- we've effectively been without a moderator for several years. I cleaned up some of the listing and review spam that was on the tribe, but leaving it there doesn't really hurt ...

I *think* this would happen if you were getting bounced between servers.
Do you have "remember me" checked?

I've heard no other nominations. Unless there's an objection, I'll make UCPhotog the new moderator in a couple of days.

Re: 300 ppi/dpi questions

Oh, one other thing. Interpolation isn't a bad thing, and it will often happen "behind the scenes" when you make a digital print even if you don't intentionally do it. I believe that printers and printer drivers do it all the time.
Like many...

If nominated, I will not accept. If elected, I will not serve. I don't want to be the permanent moderator-- I just took it temporarily so I could clean up the spam.

Looking for a new moderator
(in Digital Photography)
The moderator of this tribe has been gone for years. This hasn't been much of a problem, but when we got spammed recently there was nobody around to clean it up. I've been appointed temporary moderator of this tribe, and I've removed the spam fr...

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I'm done with Tribe. There seems to be nothing of interest left here.
I checked the site several times over the long weekend, and almost every time the only new messages where in the Brainstorm tribe-- they're just flamewars, trolling, and idiocy, with no real content. None of my other tribes had any content at all. Zip, zilch, nada. There seems to be no there here anymore.
When NSA took over the helm, I had high hopes that they would do som...

[I originally wrote this as a comment on someone else's blog, but it seemed like it wanted to stand alone. This is a slightly modified version of the original.]
The initial vision of Tribe was basically a mashup between Craigslist and Friendster-- the idea was that having real identities with listings would make them more appealing. Would you rather buy a car from a total stranger, or a friend of a friend? It was funded by two newspaper conglomerates who were looking for a way to get back...

ProtectMarriage.com seems to have a full-on Google assault today.
Every time someone clicks on one of their ads, they pay money to Google. If the ad is on Tribe, Google pays Tribe.
Let's help 'em out. If you see one of their ads on Tribe, click on it. Tell your friends to do the same. Let's cost the bigots as much money as possible.

As some of you know, several photos from my Rope:Burn series are being exhibited at Stormy Leather in San Francisco. It is a group show, and I am pleased and humbled to be sharing the walls with some of the most talented and respected artists in the genre-- Michael Rosen, David Steinberg, Jim Duvall, and Lochai.
I have been documenting Mike West's outstanding Rope:Burn underground bondage cabaret shows for two years, and this exhibition is the first time the images are being displayed pub...

Like there's any point to extolling the virtues, or lack of said virtues, in an outdated usenet wannabe like tribe?
If the colors of evil are purple and pink, then Patti is evil incarnate.
She also happens to be way too smart for her own good.
...oh, and those are compliments.

Oh, goddess of impulsive bagpipe buying....I'll never be able to look at unagi the same way again...or bass players for that matter.
A simple adjective for such a complex woman- beautiful.

What a wonderful friend, confidante, supporter and advocate! Patti's heart shines through with integrity humor and love. I'm honored to have her in my life!

Patti is the best, sweetest most giving person I know, and that's not just me talking, but the truffle inside my oh-so happy belly :-) Some times I just feel like a puppet being commanded around by my addictions, and Patti was my pusher today :-) Thanks Patti, you rock!!!

Patti is the most wonderful woman with oddly colored hair that I've ever met.
Really. No, seriously.
Hell of a poker player, too. And she drinks single malt scotch. I mean, really, what more could you ask for?
