Folly Feast Fashion and Flirt Fling #3 (events » other) Saturday, February 21, 2009 - 7:00 PM 118 RSVPs Folly Feast Fashion and Flirt Fling #3
A brief period of indulging one's impulses

February 21st, 2008, 7pm (dinner at 8pm)

The third annual Folly Feast Fashion and Flirt Fling will be on Saturday, February 21st in a beautiful delta town less than 50 miles from San Francisco. We are limited to exactly 120 people at the event, so please reserve your spot as soon as you can. I do not want you to miss the party!

For those of you that have been to the Folly Feast Fashion and Flirt Fling #1 or #2, you know that this is an extravagant party with fabulous food, tons of great entertainment, with beautiful people in an awesome historic location. You don't want to miss the party.

The California Honeydrops and Rube Waddell will be playing in the warehouse. Then the party will move to the hotel, which used to be a brothel. There are 18 rooms in the hotel and every one of the rooms will have something going on in it. Currently there are about 10 rooms still open, so please let me know if you want to create a theme room. No potatoes please:).

This is a big all night party with great food and great entertainment. It is very participatory. It is a costume party, with costumes ranging from turn of the century brothel, to elegant sirs and madams to slutty guys and gals. Fancy wigs, clever masks, nightgowns and pajamas, prom dresses, tuxedos, risque sir's and madam's wear and several changes of clothes are all encouraged. The period of the attire is less important then the extravagance, charm and elegance of the outfit. I will have several hundred garments strewn around the hotel and encourage everyone to have multiple personalities as their mood changes throughout the night. Clothing is not optional in the restaurant...in the hotel do as you please.

Every room will have clothes spread out all over the place, which you are encouraged to change into during the night. There are closets in every room, which will be the coat-checks, so my collection won't get confused with the things you brought yourself and want to keep. You may also bring things to throw in the pile...maybe you found a great dress or some awesome lederhosen that you would love to see someone wear... bring it and have someone model it for you. Or maybe you like what someone else is wearing and you want to switch...extra points for slipping into a bathroom and coming out in each others clothes.

The party will start in the restaurant, which is where the puppet show will start, food will be served and the bands will start playing. The food is included in the price, but bring some money for the bar. You should also bring what ever you want for the hotel, booze, snacks etc. there is no store. The food will be delicious. Please email me if you don't eat meat or fish so I can let them know how many vegetarians there are...last year no-one did, and the vegi options were limited!

I can not collect money at the venue, so there will be no tickets sold after February 20th. Please make your reservations and look for details on the event website: dukedutchy.com. If you want to pay cash, please make arrangements to meet me before the 20th.

If you do not know me (see pauldejong.com) please send me an email or become friends with me on Tribe, MySpace or Facebook--links on party website. I need to know everyone who is attending--the venue stipulated that as a requirement.

Big Karaoke Sunday (events » nightlife) Sunday, March 29, 2009 - 8:00 PM 141 RSVPs New Sunday karaoke night starting at the Mission Hill Saloon, formally known as Sadie's Flying Elephant. This is a super fun bar and it will be a great karaoke night.

Come help me start it off with a bang. If we can pack the house it will happen every two weeks. (I currently host karaoke at the Argus Lounge on the alternate Sunday nights.)

I started hosting karaoke back in the early days of the Odeon Bar and have amassed a great list of songs over the years. I also have a very good sound system and try to make everyone sound great.

Come and help me make it an awesome karaoke Sunday!

My Blog

I put up a new website and blog for the Hammock Hangout. Check it out, I think it is pretty cool.

I was up until almost 5am this morning finishing it. The bad news is that I was late with moving my car, that already had too many tickets on it so I got screwed just before Burning Man. See the hammock hangout blog for details.

My Testimonials

June 8, 2005
Not only is Paul an AIDS Ride vet and a snappy dresser, he introduced me to Toetsie Z (probably the coolest person in A-Dam). Even though I rarely see him, he will be missed when he bails on SF. A squidling, a karaoke king and a good dad... Paul is crazy cool.

It's really all because of Paul. No... seriously! He helped me change *so* much of my life. And definitely hung on for the ride :) I can point to so many parts of my beautiful life and say, "Paul introduced me to that/him/her." BurningMan, Kelleigh and the Ebb Tide, Chicken John, Cellspace, cow udders, cellular phone technology... see?

Plus, he's just gorgeous. So there!
