In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Truth Speakers...

"The Holy Longing"

Tell a wise person, or else keep silent,
because the mass man will mock it right away.
I praise what is truly alive,
what longs to be burned to death.

In the calm water of the love-nights,
where you were begotten, where you have begotten,
a strange feeling comes over you,
when you see the silent candle burning.

Now you are no longer caught in the obsession with darkness,
and a desire for higher love-making sweeps you upward.

Distance does not make you falter.
Now, arriving in magic, flying,
and finally, insane for the light,
you are the butterfly and you are gone.
And so long as you haven't experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth.

- Goethe, translated by Robert Bly

about me
"The dancer of the future will be one whose body and soul have grown so harmoniously together that the natural language of that soul will have become the movement of the body. The dancer will not belong to a nation, but to all humanity. She will dance not in the form of nymph, nor fairy, nor coquette, but in the form of woman in her greatest and purest expression. She will dance the changing life of nature, showing how each part is transformed into the other. From all parts of her body shall shine radiant intelligence, bring to all the world the message of the thoughts and aspirations of thousands of women. She shall dance the freedom of woman."

-Isadora Duncan

Whispering facts and memories...

I am desperate right now for any imput from anyone who has travelled in Peru and Ecuador, and experiences from women who have done a trip solo would be especially appreciated.

My travel plans have changed pretty dramatically in the past week, and I am now entertaining the idea of travelling alone (tickets were bought with a partner, who may or may not be coming along at this point).

I would love to hear any stories, advice, suggestions for places to stay or avoid...anything!
