Julie's Coffee and Tea Garden ( local favorites » bars / clubs / cafes ) "Cool Spot" One of the things I like best about Julie's is that they got fair trade coffee and tea. Support fair trade. That being said, they're also a very cool spot with a relaxing outdoor patio. Nice decor and good place to grade papers.

La Pinata ( local favorites » restaurants ) "Heavy hands" If there is one quality that I love in a bartender it's heavy hands. The bartenders at La Pinata make heavy handed drinks. Very easy to get sloshy here. Their food is good with generous portions and they are open late. Not the cheapest.

Arinell's Pizza ( local favorites » restaurants ) "No frills good NYC pizza" Arinell's makes the best NYC pizza I've tasted in the Bay Area. Golden Lotus ( local favorites » restaurants ) "Great Veggie/vegan restaurant, Service...." They follow a female buddhist spiritual master named Ching Hai who obviously believes in non-violence as seen by her followers veggie/vegan restaurant. My carnivorous friend calls the food at Golden Lotus tofu wizardry. They are casual dining good... read more

Emeryville Public Market ( local favorites » restaurants ) "Good, cheap, variety" It's a food court. It's fast food. If you are looking for that then the Public Market is great. Huge variety of food to choose from. All of it being what it is. My recommendation is based with that in mind
