How refreshing

Taking the extra shifts at Yogi's felt so amazing this weekend. This place have promoted health and peace in my heart for many many years, and being away gives me some perspective as to what this place means, as on its surface it is such a meaningless job.

The fact of the matter is, it is the only area in my life that is uncomplicated. It is simple, ritualistic in its behaviour, without much expectations and the ability to express myself fully and honor my spirit. The combination of good food, like-minded individuals and as an interesting culture to learn about, the simplicity and, of course, the location surrounded by a familiar neighbourhood (what was that random-freak parade about yesterday? fuck I love this place).

Even this blog, with the detachment to my real life, becomes a fractured and misunderstood place of expression. With the amount of complicated ideas going through my head I can barely write with clarity. At Yogi's, for the first time in a long time, I had a task at hand which was simple, good for me and uncomplicated. How refreshing is that.

If you are considering eating out on the drive, go eat there and support this business. Its owned by good people, the staff are pretty cool, the kitchen staff are the sweetest and none of them actually keep this place going because of the money. I don't think anyone who works there lives off of the money created in that place, but we all have lived very well off the heart and soul it offers and it helps add to the financial pool of us transient multi-taskers pocketbook.

thanks for the reminder Dawn, i haven't been to Yogi's for a while...mmmmasala dosa! it IS yummy and healthy and low-cost, nice warm ambience, and the people who run it do seem genuinely friendly and caring.

so good to work with good people, isn't it...not "for", but "with"...
