A thank you and update from Phoenix on DVD

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/phoenix-dancing/blog/b6eb402e-dca3-432d-971c-3f0af5eaad51"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/aa5/a95/aa5a9574-ff04-4868-b757-157cf4dd51a5.thumb" width="51" height="77" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Well...I have been so happy with the sales for the Isis Wings with Phoenix DVD. The feedback has been great too. I have posted the feedback that many have given me on my site....so far so good and I am glad. It was really important to me to put out a DVD that was useful and packed with info. I actually have more to share in the future or through workshops....some have asked that and yes...there is more. I have had various levels of dancers purchase it and have been happy with it. So that is awesome....

I also added a trailer to my website, myspace page, and youtube -- link is in my profile if you want to see it.

Also...I am on amazon now...crazy to be there to me....I look myself up and amazon comes up YIKES! hahaha...

But anyway...just wanted to share -- have a few to package up and mail out tomorrow. Also...I think I am ready to wholesale it soon.

I appreciate the support from my fellow dancers and students -- especially my mentor Joynan who pushed me out there to do it. Also - two great artists: Zel Hayal (www.zelhayal.com) and Solace (www.empcds.com) for working with me to use their music in the DVD....if you have not heard or own any of their music then I highly suggest checking them out!

<div>Hi there guys...so great hafla yet again. Thank you....also Tim's second band was a blast - we may do that again and I highly suggest hanging out to see them!

A great turn out and wonderful crowd.

We also want to note that we had a few gliches with a long sound check but will be shorter next time.....working with the new set up of the dancers on stage so smoothing it out but we figured some good stuff out last night that will make it even better. Also - we figured out a crowd control deal at the end of the night to fix the people standing in front of tables....so that will also be better.
Always a work in progress..... but worth it!

Thank you...we had a great show, great time, and wonderful energy from all!!!! The owner even commented on the supportive energy he saw and thought it was wonderful.

We are looking at June dates for the next one...stay tuned -- I have the tentative dates marked but am having to juggle a few things then we will set it. We are also looking at Aug and Oct dates for the year....

<div>So - I finally have a few updated photos of her. It is hard to believe that she is two and was not much bigger than a long pencil when I got her. She still has a few years of growing...but what a cutie.

Nov and Dec with Phoenix - Finishing up the Program

<div>Hey guys...

La Danse Macabre was great - what a turnout and fun!!! Thanks to all....

Just a little update that some know and some may not. I may be a little quiet (I know I know - me quiet that is a first) for the next 6 weeks as I finish up my nursing program. Nov thru early Dec - I will be in my senior project where my hours may be weird....but then I will be done.

I do have a couple of dates - Nov 10th with Rafi'ah at the Mercury and Dec 9th with Saber at India's Castle.

As long as my clinical allows - I hope to attend some of the fun events that others are doing (TT Holiday Show, Nov 3rd Kara Nomadica, and Boo Fest -- I hope to see all of these). If I am not there, then know I am at the hospital working. Kind of wild to think that I will be done....it has been a crazy year! So hope to see you out....if I do not then know that Dec 9th Saber and I will be performing and celebrating my completion of the program!!!!

Yallah! and I are working on the dates for 2008 -- we are finalizing the dates with the Dnote and will post those on the calendar as soon as they are comfirmed.

Happy Halloween!!!!

Community and Communication

<div>We are so lucky here in Colorado to have a community that communicates and collaborates- or at least most do most of the time. This keeps us from stepping on each other and causing undercutting. I know of other cities that do not have this and competition has become an issue...then next thing you know, all are dancing for $35 and no one wins.

With that thought I want to thank those of you that do support the community and keep it a sisterhood rather than compete for gigs. We have a lot of places to dance and I hope that we always stick together -- it can only benefit us all. You all know how much I value the community and the events/work I do to hopefully keep it this way.

I am writing this blog to thank and also voice a concern. In the past few months, I personally have been disappointed by a few that are not working with us and have lost a few deals to lower priced dancers. Ideas on how to get those dancers to understand that if we work together - it is better for all? I am open guys because I am getting exhausted here....it seems that some efforts are just being wasted.

This is NOT a note for any one person to take offense or feel they are being singled out (I have not named names or anything). But this actually comes from a few occurances this year and some discussions with other concerned dancers who are also seeing this.

Is our community changing? Are we sure we are teaching the importance of community to our students? I hope that we can always keep that open/honest sisterhood that keeps many of us working hard for the community. It would be sooo disappointing to see that go away. I love and cherish all of the dancers in our community...I really want to see us stick together because it only benefits us more.

It is a bummer to vent here since you guys know me as positive usually...but man...I am tired of this right now! I am just concerned that we could end up like some other cities if we do not work together and the majority here does but it only takes a few to mess it up.
