Why create a tribe profile for an event?

Good question!

Phoenix Fire is a for the community, by the community, non profit organization, so we don't have a huge operating budget or a whole lot of fancy schmancy advertising. We get info about our gathering to like minded folks through word of mouth, our website, and networking sites like tribe.

If you'd like to keep up on the latest happenings and registration announcements, just add us and keep an eye out for our blog postings.

And for those of you wondering who's behind the curtain, this page is maintained by Padme. You can find my personal page in our friend gallery. ^_^

about me
Phoenix Fire is a Community Fire Circle Gathering in the Santa Cruz Mountains, August 14-17 2008.

We invite you to join us, the Family of Fire, on a journey of transformation and growth. For four amazing days and three other-worldly nights we will soar with the Phoenix Reborn as we weave a powerful web of community.

Phoenix Fire is an annual gathering of like-minded individuals, now in it's third year, being held among the Redwoods in the beautiful Santa Cruz, California mountains. Together we create a sacred place for deep play. At the heart center of the gathering you will find three all-night intentional Fire Circles, where people of many paths join together in Sacred Space, to drum, dance, and sing. With ash on our skin, smoke in our hair, and flames in our eyes, our rhythms, songs and chants ring from the redwoods, weaving an affirmation of Spirituality and Creativity as our common birthright, accessible to all.

Phoenix Fire is a safe and sacred container for celebration, magic, transformation, ecstatic dance, and heartfelt drumming. An exciting blend of many traditions, Phoenix Fire has its roots in a style of fire circle celebration that evolved over the last two decades at magical drum and dance events held in the Northeast U.S. There is no dogma or theology to our gathering; folks of all faiths and traditions are welcome at the Fire.

While the heart of Phoenix Fire lies in the three midnight-to-dawn Sacred Fire Circles, Phoenix Fire days are reserved for napping, chatting, and snacking. Spend an afternoon at one of our hands-on workshops, where you have the opportunity to study and share in small groups with some of the finest teachers in the worlds of drumming, dance and magickal arts. Or spend a day at the village square, wandering the colorful booths of the merchants, laughing around the warming fire, and witnessing the impromptu community performances of the bardic stage.

Together we will fuel our passions, sharing ways to carry our sparks and flames into our home communities. With compassion, we support and encourage each other to be fully in our own power.

We are committed to being a family-friendly gathering and welcome your children. Phoenix Fire is a drug- and alcohol-free event.

Come, experience the Fire Circle as the beating heart of a living community. Ride the rhythm through the night and emerge transformed with the dawn!

Dear friends,

We are excited! to offer a rebate to those who refer new registrants to the Phoenix Fire Gathering.

While we have spent some money on ads, we'd mostly like to give the money to you - while at the same time encouraging you to spread the word to your circles of friends and family.

We know that in these times of rising gas and food prices, and economic uncertainly, a gathering like Phoenix Fire might seem like a luxury. We also know what a necessity it is to spend quality ... read more
