More Pics From Pride!
I've posted the shots from my camera, on the Citadel Tribe at sfthecitadel.tribe.net/photosI'll put a few more of the band up on the Cuir Bleu Tribe as well. Feel free to right click & save yourself a copy of anything I took!
That really was alot of fun...
Lots of Fun in Leather!
The Pride Parade was AWESOME fun! I've posted some pics that Duane took, on the Cuir Bleu Tribe: tribes.tribe.net/cuirbleu/photos - check 'em out! There are some great shots there... and more to come later from my camera & the videos, too! What a huge undertaking! I'm still reeling a bit, between the early mornings, late nights, singing, dancing & general mayhem.
Makana and Banasidhe, (with help from Master Erik, Ted & I think a few others - name yourselves for me, please!) did the build-out all day Saturday & into the wee hours, a couple of them slept with the float to guard it (that's hardcore dedication!), then were up with the sun to finish getting it ready! We were told to arrive and assemble at 9:30, did the hurry-up-and-wait thing for about 3 hours, then launched onto Market Street around 12:45. It took about 40 minutes to do the route, with the band playing, dancers following and shakin' it, whips snapping, people being flogged in the truck, Tears-Pup in the cage, pony carts - oh, the pony carts were lovely! We had three of them, and I don't have any pics yet, but they looked great! There were lots of folks who joined us to walk, dance or volunteered as wheel monitors - it was quite a group, and I think we did the Leather Contingent proud!
The after party at Citadel was alot of fun too, with a really good turnout. "Laced tight, dressed well, going-to-the-Citadel-good times"! Simone made a new drink, called the "Cuir Bleu Citadel Float", which was a NEON BLEU ice-cream float, and was passing them out at the party -It was so cool!
KRON4 was broadcasting & I hear they taped the entire event this year; there were other cameras there as well & I think an internet broadcast was done. If you have pics or video of our contingent at the parade, please let me know!
Parade Lineup Info!
OK, if you're joining us at the Parade this Sunday - or even just watching it - here's some useful info...PLACEMENT: The Leather Contingent is in the second third of the parade, Contingent number 119 K. The Citadel float (with Cuir Bleu on it) has the 2nd spot in the leather contingent, following the Society of Janus. Approximately one million people are expected to show up for this event!
MEETING UP: Our assembly area is K, and we are on the right side of Beale, between Mission and Howard Streets. Our assembly area entrance is Howard and Beale. Assembly time is 9:30 AM. Between 9:30 and 10:30 AM, the vehicles, clubs and organizations, marchers, etc. will be set up in parade line-up order, ready to step off shortly after 10:30 AM.
VOLUNTEERS: We still need wheel monitors! There is only ONE training left that I know of, this Friday 7pm-8pm at Larkin Hall, Polk & Grove Streets, San Francisco - please come join us!
PHOTO & VIDEO: I would like to have as much photo & video coverage of the band as possible, and hope to use some of it in a future music video! Please let me know if you will be shooting the parade so I can make arrangements to get files from you!
MEDIA COVERAGE: KRON (Channel 4) will air the parade preshow from 10 to 10:30 a.m., then cover two hours of the parade from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. I have heard they will also be filming the entire thing this year, even though the broadcast ends early. I believe there will also be Webcast coverage by Comcast, but haven't been able to find info on it yet.

See you there!
I want 10% off at Stormy Leather - Are you with me here?
So, I've just learned that Stormy Leather has been bought by JT's Stockroom... which is to say, they're coming back into the fold of the Leather community. I think it's very cool, and in my not so humble opinion, we can't have too many great leather stores in San Francisco! They're asking for help to get the word out, and offering a 10% discount in the store for doing so.On a personal note, Stormy Leather has the distinction of being the second store in San Francisco to carry Cuir Bleu's CDs, which endears them to me of course! (Dark Garden was the first, incidentally - so aside from having incredible corsets, i think they have fine taste in music). Both stores still have the "Slip Away" CD and will have "Sex Toy" shortly!
If you want to help spread the word (and get a 10% off coupon), add Stormy Leather to your Friends list here: people.tribe.net/stormyleather and send them a message letting them know I sent you! Then you can check out their blogs about sales, special events, and workshops at their store in SOMA.
It's all about Community... and leather! Mmmm... leather.
New Video Posted - Sex Toy on YouTube!
Ok, here it is - the rough edit of the Sex Toy video up on YouTube! This isn't the final version, but I know you've been waiting (almost patiently) and I want to reward you. I can be so very nice that way...Here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch
This was shot at the Power Exchange (Thanks, Stef & Mike!) and at the SF Citadel (Thanks August & Phil!), with a cast of fun folks and fans who really... put their backs (and everything else) into it! Thanks also of course to Blackheart for the videography and edit!
I'm interested in getting feedback on this, so let me know what you think!
