There are so many people in my life who are facing big challenges head on. They are learning and growing through the difficult process of looking inward with honesty and a healthy perspective. It seems that every day I have a conversation or read a blog where one of my friends has had a major breakthrough in their lives. Either that or they have had a recent experience that is so wonderful that they feel compelled to share it with others. These stories are beautiful and inspiring.

The internet is an ocean of information and I am but a drop of oil spreading so thinly on the surface that I am disappearing molecule by molecule. I am overwhelmed by the vastness and emptiness of the world wide web. In the billions of words and images I am lost and void of any comfort. As a joke a friend once compared another friend of mine to a river saying, "you're a mile wide and an inch deep". That is how shallow and impersonal I find the internet to be these days.
