A Sad Day....

Yesterday, the our precious family member, Shiney, a doxie, woke up and couldn't move the back half of her body. I found a vet in the area and he will be our vet from now on. He was caring and compassionate. He was examining her and he started crying and just apologizing. She wasn't feeling anything in her legs, back, no tail movement. She was paralyzed and she was unable to go to the bathroom. She had somehow blown a disc in her back. We had no choice but to euthanize her. The vet and his nurse were crying with the family as they said their goodbyes. (I was unable to be there because I had half an hour left of work). He gave her the first shot and made sure she was good and asleep before administering the second shot. It didn't hit Playa Son until about 5 hours later what had happened and he is completely heartbroken. She was his partner in crime. She slept with him. She was his confidant. She went everywhere he went. She was not just a pet, she was a family member and we are all mourning the loss of her.

The smell of bacon makes me think of the Esplanade, a cool merry go round and Turbo trading in her pants so I could have a shirt! Thanks Turbo! I still have the shirt!
