Schpoon is amazingly brilliant, funny, gorgeous, and talented. I'd be insanely jealous of her if I didn't think she was so full of awesome!

Spoon is the smartest, most awesome-est dancer ever! She makes me squeal with intellectual delight. I dream of her massive brain. I can't wait to see her dance in person, I am sure it will surpass my fantasies! I can't wait to meet my sexy, swell Spoon!!!

A hoopy frood who knows where her (white) towel is. She's one of the blessed ones, paving paths for others to walk, without fencing 'em in. A+++ highly recommended.

What an incredible force in the Universe that seems to understand the human condition, then give it tools to heal itself. She is a different individual with a quirky sense of self that defies definition and pushes the boundaries of what you know. It is good to know someone like Spoon that reconfigures the box into a four dimensional world. Continue on sister and create fabulous colors that don't exist in the traditional pack.

She lets me be the BBD smartass...how cool is that?
Spoon is scary-smart, a pathological reader (and I mean that only in the nicest way imaginable) and her posts inspire me to put down that Cosmopolitan and read a damn book. What can I say? She just stinks up the joint with class. Love me some Spoonicus...

I haven;t had much of a chance to blog lately. Most of my blogging has been short and not really my usual Spoony stuff. I went through a bit of a dark patch and I'm always working so I just haven't had as much of an occasion to do it. But right now I am so damn proud of myself as an artist and a performer that I have to talk about it at least a little bit.

Unfinished business eats away at the psyche. We revisit past situations again and again, perhaps wishing we had done something different or trying to reinterpret a past event with new information. Sometimes the past makes me wince.

When I was about 5 years old I was home alone because I was sick and my mother was out getting groceries. I gathered up my kitten, a blanket, some pillows and a stuffed animal of some kind into the living room (the ritual tools of any child) and forced myself to... read more

My Ecstasia students are all really interested in Italian trance ritual and since I am too I decided a while ago that we were going to take this summer and really work on the Italian side of things. Wheee! Trust me, they didn't have to twist my arm. So the last two weeks we've been working on Pizzica and I've introduced the song Pizzicarella which is so much fun its probably illegal i... read more
I am ..... Aaaaaaaaaaalmost totally moved in. Almost. We're still missing the really big stuff like the dreaded grand-daddy book case, sofa and master bed but other than that we're good. I liked my new house better before all my stuff was in it. Now its a mess and I have to put everything away. House, you betrayed me. You were supposed to be totally spotless forever due to hidden self cleaning mechanisms tucked away in the attic. I am disappointed by your lack of magical ability to do your ow...

I was 13 years old when I started studying Orientale dance. I have only a handful of pictures from that time period but the ones I do have are really cute. I didn't start performing until I had been dancing for close to four years. I was just really shy and it was Southern California, the competition out there was/is fierce. My first regular gig was at a little Indian Food restaurant in San Dimas. I danced there on Fridays and Saturdays and the rest of the week I was a Seating Hostess. *Chuck...
