I'm best known for giving the sOakland hot tub parties for tribe.net folks, at my house where I live with two other people, many animals, and some big trees. The parties are discussed on a private tribe; write me if you are interested. For some reason, free hot tubbing is very popular, enough to make me an unlikely nominee for the Tribe 25, even though I hate publicizing myself. I've had the hot tub since 2000 but started throwing the parties at the beginning of 2004, shortly after I joined tribe.net and let it slip on the Hot Tubbing tribe that I was willing to have people over. Through the magic of social networking, in no time I regularly had dozens of people in my yard. Enough people now report having met each other here that sOakland qualifies as social networking itself.
Besides the tub, I'm infamous as one of the biggest tribe sluts on Tribe, with almost 3000 tribes. Only recently did I see one user (Karima) with more. Why so many? If you've been in my house, you know I like clutter and lots of stuff to read, even if I'm a year behind on some of it. But mostly, I like being able to invite people to tribes that may interest them, and being on the tribes makes this easier. Finally, it gives Tribe's software a good workout - my old-style homepage took a while to load, and crashed many people's browsers.
My name here started as a mispronounciation of some earlier names, but does fit the hot tub party theme. I'm rarely as uninhibited as the name suggests though, and usually look rather serious in person. In real life, I'm a long-time software engineer, but am currently doing a good job of avoiding this. As a result, I'm usually online; feel free to instant message or mail me. Other interests include food (most recently I've taken up slow smoking BBQ in a kamado), gardening (bamboo, fruit trees, and others), travel (all over the planet, but most recently Japan and Spain), languages, maps, and various other obscure nerdy stuff.
