I have created this poetry group because I have a need.
Despite the fact that I have lived just about everywhere, I have never found any woman as hard headed as me. There is power in writing. Ever try to find a book written from a woman’s perspective in an attempt to find someone else who has experienced something close to what you are experiencing? I have, and I have longed to meet those women. I want to meet woman who are hard headed, who have difficulty relating to the signs of our times, our ads, our shows, the mainstream. We have the space!
I spoke to an event coordinator last night and our group has permission to use a room. There is tea and coffee as well at snacks available and I encourage members to show thier appreciation for the use of this free space by purchasing some of the treats from the bar. The events will fall on Tuesday night. I have not picked which Tuesday night or how often we will meet. That will depend on the members, and there is a chance that we can use the space on a Sunday if that fits the group better.
