awesome!
I love Vancouver...so much that my partner and sanfrancisco.tribe.net/templa...ment.vm
Post a New Comment - tribe.netI are thinking of moving there in a couple years...

So, i stayed in a hostile off Davie St (and Burrard area) and it was kinda like the "gay vibe" with some cool bars and some restaurants....I'm sure you will go to Stanley Park, it's beautiful and big and beautiful walks I think it's Denman street that has some good cafes/restaurants.

Then there was "Commercial" drive, which is kinda far, and a little dirty, but it reminded me of the haight...but a bit smaller, and well, at the time we needed some herb, so it worked out.LOL...basically it's very similar to SF as in downtown, is mostly business people (and some museums, which are very cool) and then the "outskirts" are really where it's at most of the time...I met a local tribester last time I went and we went to eat somewhere down town and he didn't know where to eat since he never goes down there.lol..it was kinda funny.

BEST PLACE FOR SUSHI,your in heaven if you love sushi.

ok, there is this other area I really loved, but i'll have to ask my honey where it was at....i'm so jealous!

have fun! bring warm clothes!

oh, another amazing thing about Vancouver is there Subway and bus system! so efficient! if you miss a train, the next one comes in like 2-4 minutes...and you buy a card, and it's kinda like a trust system from what I remember (just last yr) so you buy a ticket, go on, and I never once got asked for my ticket. There was some theory behind it, but i forget it now. The trains are also all computer-navigated (satellite? not sure) so there is no driver (wow, who would have thought of that BART system.ugh)

It's a fun city to be on foot! it reminds me of a cleaner, bigger san francisco...love it.

The aquarium in Stanley Park is pretty good, especially the orca and beluga tanks which can be viewed from above or the viewing windows below.

When I was there 10 (yikes!!!) years ago, there was a great little martini bar that was famous for its belinis. If it's still there, I highly recommend it. (It's near the youth hostel, since we walked there. Can't remember any more than that.) =)
