The mango season in Mexico is more or less over. Mango Manila is the best, but Alfonso and others will do.
Here in UK we get Pakistan mangos, Indian mangos and occasionally some small yellow ones from the Windward Isles, all of which are a reasonable substitute. Then there's the very big watery, tasteless ones from Puerto Rico or Brazil, which are all weight and no flavour (and they are fibrous too!)
