What more can I say but WOW! I just got my "sleevies" in the mail and they are more than I expected. I can't wait to show the girls! Qamar is amazing, kind, and a goddess in her own right.....I highly suggest coming to her for your own pair of sleeves, eye kandy....or if you just need a good chat. She's the best.

I sell a number of wonderful bellydance accessories, including Eye Kandy glitter, Sleevie Wonders, bindis and unique jewelry at my online shop: www.qamarstreasures.com You always get to see new items here first and are more than welcome to purchase directly here if you don't wish to use my eBay shop. Eye Kandy is an absolutely wonderful invention, and makes the wearer really stand out from the crowd. It is an ultra-fine plastic polymer cosmetic glitter that has unbelievable sparkle and is completely metal free and contact lens safe, Its is milled rather than cut, so it has no sharp edges and can not cut your eye, unlike metal craft glitter. I've gotten some in my eyes when applying glitter in a hurry, and can personally attest to the fact that it doesn't hurt and is safe in the delicate eye area. It is applied with Liquid Sugar adhesive, also safe and gentle, but with unbelievable hold. It holds glitter tight for hours of active dancing, and is flake free and remarkably sweat resistant. Despite this, it washes away easily with a damp washcloth. I wear it as eyeliner, eye shadow, use it for face painting, sprinkle it on wet nail polish for a fun new look, and even mix it in lotion for all over sparkle. I love the product so much that I invested money into it in order to share it with others. I sell complete Kandy Kits, Liquid Sugar adhesive and individual colors. I also design, manufacture and sell Sleevie Wonders, a new type of arm gauntlet, that are perfect to jazz up existing costumes or lend a festive new look to regular outfits. Most are made of silk and many feature silver or gold embroidery on the lush fabrics. Two styles are available to accent your costuming: regular closed top and the deluxe style with a peekaboo slit in the top to allow your arms to peek through. The peekaboo is further enhanced with beaded swags for further embellishment. Both styles are graced with a lettuce leaf hem. They fit virtually all size arms and I will happily customize the elastic tops if your arms require smaller or larger diameter tops. They flutter beautifully as you dance and accent your graceful arm movements, staying up despite vigorous dancing. I can be contacted at glitterifficgoodies@gmail.com or through private message here on Tribe at this profile or my personal profile.

Because of eBay's new policies essentially designed to drive small businesses out of business I've left eBay. If anyone is interested in Eye Kandy, Sleevie Wonders or any of my jewelry, please see photos in my album here: people.tribe.net/qamars_treasures

Tonight I had the opportunity to vend at Katia's Tapestry of Middle Eastern Dance workshop and hafla. I had a total blast in the workshop and then ran downstairs for breaks to vend. The good news is that I sold almost every single pair of Sleevie Wonders I had! The bad news? I'm almost out of stock now. I'll be photographing the remaining stock this weekend and then going fabric shopping to make more luscious Sleevies. Any particular colour preferences?

My new Eman Zaki dress arrived today and its beautiful! It weighs a ton because of the beading, but the weight distributes well once its on. Its the first professional costume I've bought, so I'm pretty excited about it.

Sadly though, it is NOT ready to wear. It is an XL dress and accomodates my 52" hips very well, and the cups keep the DD girls (godzilla and mothra) in check nicely, but the band is ridiculous. The band is about 36 inches long. How many zaftig women do you know with 50+ i... read more
