about me
I am a multimedia techwhore who is obsessed with all forms of art and technology. As a graphic designing, filmmaking DJ and producer, it should become very evident that I like doing creative things using the most advanced tools at my disposal. Life should be exciting -- more exciting -- all the time. Let's push our fucking limits already. We need better music. We need a more open culture. We need better means of production and less waste. We need renewable energy, sustainable development, a better government and some real progress.
I'm a freak (a switch!) with a twisted and sarcastic sense of humor. I think a lot about semi-abstract concepts and the relationships between things, so the films, books and music that I like have to be very stimulating. I like things on the fringe -- all the trailblazing stuff.
I've been using a service called Twitter for awhile and have been loving it. One of the coolest things about it is the ability for people to post status updates (like on Facebook) but those status updates are delivered straight to your phone via text messages.
So I started thinking about how useful this could be... I wish I knew when parties were busted before I left the house (although that'll never happen with us!). OR maybe if everyone got text messages, we could start doing interest...

I decided to write an article on how to find a good job in a bad economy. This is based on how I landed my dream job, what I would've done differently, and how I feel about applicants now that my company is looking for people. Please feel free to leave me a comment there! So there are 2 types of promoters in this world. Responsible Promoters and Irresponsible Promoters. As it turns out, some Irresponsible Promoters organized an event at the SAME location as our HOMECOMING event was supposed to be on the night before our event. Mark's the kinda guy who will pick up his phone at 11 pm when he has hot chicks over at his house to sit and talk about HTML to PHP conversion with me because I'm stuck on my photo page and can't figure out why it won't load. He'll then ignore the gaggle of hotties for a half an hour and take me through step by step of what I need to do to fix the page.
He's the kinda of guy who will drive to San Diego with me on a school night just for the ride and so he can say hi to his friends there. Then when it's 2 a.m. and I'm falling asleep at the wheel, he'll pop on some minimal dark techno and drive all the way back to L.A. while I sleep.
Then he'll surprise you and get drunk and tell you how much you absolutely rocked it on NYE but then he'll say that your set at Avalon kicked NYE's ass, but that's right before he tells you you're only an okay DJ, which is right before he vurps and tells you, "you....sssuck" while he falls against a wall because his last lemon drop shot just hit him and he can no longer stand up straight.
But you know it's all good because Mark isn't about the B.S. and he'll call tomorrow and apologize for whatever it was that he said the night before. And you totally know it's okay because Mark's the kinda guy who knows his music inside and out and is technically a flawless DJ.
Plus he knows Jules, so that's another 1 up in any book.
I like Mark. He's good.
