I am amazed at what my wife sometimes gets me to do. Her latest obsession has been about chickens. The first week we had them, I had bought two from the Aggie Feed Store (whose facilities were simly atrociously filthy), and within that first week they both died from respiratory illnesses. Here's the punchline: I mourned for both of those birds, painfully. Why? It's my love of life, in the end that kicked me. Mere days later, I had gone to the outskirts of Greenville, Tx. to acquire two or three more healthy free-range birds (two ameracaunas, one black australorp). I'm actually proud of thes little creatures. First day they were with us one of the ameracaunas gave us a couple of little blue-green eggs! One of them I'm naming Cathy (she's chatty), and the australorp I think I'll name Isis. The other one has a real fancy hairdo like Cara Fayah from Shiny Toy Guns......Helga? Heide? Hmmm...

Today at 9:00 am, (Red Hot) Jazz Allen, loving and patient, side-stepped into the Summerlands to join the Great Pride of Cats on the Dreamplains. Jazz was a great personality and watchful friend, with a love for others that knew no bounds. He was a wonderful Red Persian with a great pedigree. Such a showstopper...
He is survived by Me and my dearest wife, Malkav (English Cobby-mix), Fey (faerie-mix mutt-kittie), Sasha (Pekingese), Persia (black Pug), Velvet (betta) and our as yet unnamed new yellow betta....
Those who knew Jazz were directly affected by his oversized aura of love. We'll miss you, punkin'.
