It's true.Not only do I like her talent...her voice...and also her acting career.I also think she was just really pretty.

Halloween Weekend

So Im going to have to celebrate oddly again.Cant wait for Halloween to fall on a decent day for me.Decided to have a party and feed people since trick or treat tradition evolved from "going a-souling," when the poor would beg for food during All Soul's Day in exchange for praying for the families' dead relatives. Funny tho that I just found out that tradition of bobbing for apples arose out of a November 2nd Roman tradition of honoring the Goddess Pomona whose symbol was the apple.She's the goddess of fruit and fruitfulness and the wife of the God of the Orchards.Funny how little kids are taught to honor a goddess in hopes they might have food the next year.So with that and carving pumpkins,which i still havent found out why that's so great,we are just going to watch wonderful B rated horror movies tonite,then I suppose we'll go to bada boom for Saturday since I cant think of anything else to do.

West Memphis Three World Awareness Day 7/23/05

Chuck Prophet is scheduled for a7/23 benefit he plays some sort of electroness,havent heard him but here's what it said" West Memphis Three World Awareness Day Legal defense fund benefit at Swedish Americana Hall SF, CA " I was pretty excited.I remember when I was in college and this happened.I was half and hour away in Jonesboro AR but I had a bunch of friends that lived in west memphis.Crazy as people that lived there were.Nothing like that really happened there before that.And it was just so extreme.All my friends told me stories of how it was the boys dad,and how that day a black man was seen walking into a resteraunt with blood all on his clothes and changed in the bathroom then left.I had friends who knew Damien and said he was just a weird kid who wore a trenchcoat and listened to heavy metal.I know like fifteen other kids i would describe as that.I dont really consider them suspect for murder because of their image and music tastes.I guess Damien Echols wrote a book about his life and being on death row.If your not familiar with the story these kids were found supposedly with their penis' nailed to a stuck and their ears ripped off.I even heard rumors that they were skull fucked,gross,but true.Here's what I jacked from the wm3.org site about the trial cause I didnt feel like typing anymore details "Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?

The same police officers coerced an error-filled "confession" from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late— Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.

Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.

For over 11 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment. "

It's a pretty messed up situation,honestly I had almost forgotten about it since I havent lived near there for a grip o time.
Then all these things kept popping up and they are having big music fund raising things for legal funds and all sorts of ppl i respect in the industry and taking a stand for them.It's amazing.
I guess this next year is pretty tech for them and it will decide alot.So I think I'll pay more attention and assist some kids I think were wronged.
