Blank is a quiet guy at first but once you get to know him he's an awesome, patient, sweet, smart, helpful, caring & resourceful guy. He knows how to throw one hell of a party and he and Wink are two of the coolest Burners I know. I'm so glad I met them both.

Blank has become an awsome friend. Great listner, intuitive, patient, honest and sincer the only thing that makes him cooler is the fack he has the most awsome soul mate on the planet in Wink. If you ever get the urge to flail about like a beached whale in more fur than ZsaZsa Gabour could ever dream of head to there house remove shoes and do a belly flop. They will both love on you and pet you untill you get a look on your face very similar to that of your pet dog when you rub its tummy in the right spot.

No, I didn't run, but I watched and volunteered! If you haven't seen this event live, then you should. The swim start is overwhelming.. 2200 people starting at one, too dense to get a good swim stroke going. See the picture.

Today I completed (!) my first Olympic distance Tri... 1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run. Apparently, this is a much longer distance than my 'sprint' the other week, and my body told me so.

Road to Ironman begins

Yesterday was my first race: 400m swim, 20k bike, 5k run.
Total time: 1:23. I finished in the middle of my age bracket. Not a bad start, if I do say so. I'm ok with being an average triathlete to start. That's my birthday present to myself.

Thousands lined Tempe Town lake and the Mill ave bridge at 6:45 am to watch the swim start. The water was a chilly 64 degrees. I heard they had to pull some people out of the race because they were hypothermic. I watched a 55 year old woman leave the race just s... read more

My swim was pretty strong, < 30 minutes. The water was officially 56 degrees. The bike brought on boughts of self-doubt about 1/2 way through, and about 4/5 through I wasn't 100% sure I could finish even the bike segment. The run was disappointing(at least compared to what I was expecting) but after ... read more
