My Testimonials

September 2, 2006
Ray is one of the most selfless, giving people I've ever met. He's done so many good things for me. He also gives really good hugs. I wish I lived closer, so I could get Ray hugs on a regular basis, but I'll settle for what I can get.

Ever had that experience where you and whoever you are talking to realize that you both know Ray? He has to be one of the most connected people there is, and capable of anything-though not evil. How does he do that? I owe him upwards of a million favors. I tried to set him up with my sister, but that didn't end up working out. That was a long time ago, but she says 'hi', so it must not have ended badly. Keeping pace with Ray is not on my To-Do List, since I, like other humans, must sleep and eat. When I run into him, we catch up, trade a few stories, and go our separate ways. But I'm glad I know him, and my life is better for it. Thanks again Ray, for all of it, from the old days of Innyard to introducing me to Circus Contraption, and all the rest. I am happily in your debt. Call in my marker any time.

Ray is the only person in my world entitled to wear a striped satin tux coat WITH his blue hair.

Furthermore, he's terribly fun to stalk in IKEA.

The rest of that story is left as an exercise to the reader. *wink wink*

about me
I'm a sarcastic optimist, a hopeful romantic, and a self-confessed cuddle-slut. I find my own misfortunes incredibly amusing. I tend to be shy *only* at the most inconvenient moments. I pride myself on being surrounded by the greatest (and sometimes strangest) group of friends EVER.

The writers of the Daily Show give their perspective on the strike:

The BSG: Razor screening was awesome, for many reasons. Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen was just one of them. Getting to see a battlestar ship yard was another. And there are plenty more that I won't mention, because they're full of spoilery goodness. Suffice to say I think I'll enjoy this more when it's on TV and I can pause and rewind to get a closer look at certain things.

It still did nothing to plug up the Giant Gaping Plot Hole revealed in the season three finale. But it does set season four up for one hell of a ride. I can't wait!

Note: Yes, the screening did have an awful lot of ads in it. This was a little surprising, considering that free screenings are usually a marketing tactic for the property being shown. But considering that it WAS free, that they weren't actually collecting user input at the end, and the fact that ads in TV is pretty much par for the course, I don't think it's worth of the complaints that some people have made over it.

I'm getting my mom a 20" iMac, now that she has a real office to put it in. And she's excited about being able to play some of her old PC-only games, now that we can put Windows on the iMac. But I'm debating which would be the better solution, Bootcamp or Parallels.

Parallels sounds like an awesome solution, but I've never talked to anyone who has actually used it, so I'm not sure if it's just the marketing schpeel that makes it sound so good. So I'm hoping one of you might have some experience with Parallels and be able to shed some light.

This also means that I'll be putting mom's 17" Powerbook up for sale as soon as the iMac arrives. The plan is to put it up on eBay for $1000, but if one of y'all would like to save me the trouble, that would be awesome.

17 inch G4 Powerbook17" Apple Powerbook G4

- 1.5 Ghz G4 Processor

- 1.5 GB Memory

- 80 GB Harddrive

- SuperDrive (plays and records both CDs and DVDs)

- Built-in wireless and bluetooth

- OS X Tiger (compatible with Leopard)

- iLife 5 (iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, etc)

I also have Office for Mac Pro (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Virtual PC), which I'll probably sell separately for $200.

eBay Gift CardsWant to get someone something unique for xmas, but don't know what they want? Chances are there's something on eBay that's right up their alley. And now you can get eBay gift cards. You can pick them up at Safeway and Albertsons.

If you want to test this out by sending me lots of gift cards, that'd be awesome. ;-)
