I had a little fun tonight and re-arranged my home to suit the needs of entertaining/entertainment, a nice place to sleep/eat/cook/store/do laundry, and ultimately turn my living room, into dance space. I'm excited about the layout. I'll post photos when I'm done!

For any interested, for the first time in some time I'm offerring the tive points: (5 rhythmns 5 motions 5 axes) on the last stop of Snakes Rising's Red tour.

There will be opportunities to learn beginner, intermediate, and advanced techniques, but students will also be strongly encouraged to explore their own style and motion. It's a great class for any that experience nervousness or jitters before dancing, by providing an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the motion natural too you... and also a great chance to see the finale of the hot summer red tour!

Last night was kinda cool, and I think my luck is taking an upturn. I met with radical faeries from all over ohio and shared dinner and a movie. We watched John Camron Mitchell's "Short Bus" What a riot!!! kinda heavy on the sexual overtones.....but worth a watch for anyone that lives the free and somewhat blissfully deviant life I do. Check it out.

I've shed my skin (litterally....I had a rash of incredible proportions! it's getting better!) and shed my former dance and magical name. Until the time is right I can't use the new name I found, so I'll use part of it until then. I'm dancing under the name Raye until then. Help me bless the name with abundance and power!

In the blur that was a wonderful weekend with the snakes and Carmine, I have to share this surprisingly insightful moment...

After night one, Wyldfyre invited Laylia and myself to her house to crash. We are watching some video from the night, sharing a drink, and joking around in her vibrant little office/bedroom. Her home is decorated with magic. Shiny things and faeries everywhere. As we watch the videos, her cat comes over to say hello, and decides my lap is suitable for a short cuddle.

I tell the girls, "He must smell Faerie!"

I mean : "He must smell my she-cat, Faerie"
Wyldfyre hears : "he must smell homosexual? my cat is not a homophobe!"
Laylia hears : "of course he smells faeries... they are all over this house"

It took us a second to get everyone one the same page, but it was a great laugh when we did. I guess sometimes it pays to expound on our meaning just a little bit....fate does love to play with us when we don't.

I'm yet again unemployed, laid off last week due to some workplace drama (oh the tragedy, oh the comedy.) It seems though that I wasn't completely unheard, they did offer a minor severence.

Amazingly enough though, at the same time, I've had dance students swarming out of the woodwork since, so let it be known I'm offering my services as a dance coach to any that are interested, while I search for new (part time) employ so that I can finish my degree. If you are in Columbus, or willing to travel, my coaching is catered to one or two students at a time, just send me a message and we can talk details. I'm not out to steal students, in fact I encourage students to learn from any dancer that appeals to them. I just hope to refine my students into the best dancers they can be.

Weight Watchers 15 lbs, and still slimming...

Perhaps I can be a modernized, bellydancing, Richard Simmons (with better hair)

to think for yourself... or else someone else will be more than happy to do it for you. This is a clipping of a comic I saw years ago, I'm not even sure where, but it says so much about how we often just assume something is right because it is the norm. The only way to know if something is right is to listen to the quiet voice within....it knows so much better what is right than would popular culture, or even a well meaning friend.

We create our own reality. Create one that you enjoy. Smile. Be happy.

you gotta wear shades? Looks like the sunglasses are gaining momentum...everyone's gotta try them on.

I look at it this way....if Tarkan would do it at a concert, it makes it authentic enough for me!

If you haven't seen any of his music videos yet, check out his website at www.tarkan.com he has a music video up now on his single "bounce" (yeah, the one I couldn't help but use at Lucas's Wedding) it's pretty good... keep your eye out for bu gece and olurum sana (sp?) as well.... they are a couple of the hottest music videos I've ever seen!

update - see bu gece at http://www.dailymotion.com/video/372471

yeah yeah....it's time I started one. I don't know that I'll post consistantly....but often enough. It's just that dance sometimes brings out a deeper understanding of where you and the world around you are, and a blog is a good place to express that when subtle clues are left for you in your steps. Like here.... where the rainbow was shooting out of the waterfall when snakes went to NY.
