I cupped the nectar of
Your kisses in my hand,
Licked every drop of your
Heart from my fingers.
Back on Earth,
Angels sang from your
Lips as we rolled in
Clouds of grass, God’s
Smiles shining down
Between forest leaves.
Back on Earth,
We cradled our pain
In cottony rhythms
Embracing, reflecting
Our pulsing hearts.
Do you remember when every thought
Spread like patterns in the stars, twinkling
Before us in endless arrays of beauty?
Do you remember when I took your hand
And twirled you into my arms on the
Marble of the shimmering onyx floor?
Do you remember when we could not touch
Each other because our hands meshed in
The rotation of planets?
We danced our eternal dance, but our hands never touched;
There was no separation between us.
Here on Earth,
I felt tears cascade down
My cheeks and the warm
Grip of your smooth hands.
Here on Earth,
Our fingertips touched
After reaching across the
Span of stars, Lips blazing,
Crushing glaciers of time.
Here on Earth,
Your eyes received my light,
An azure morning sky,
Curving through lakebeds,
Sparkling river streams.
Here on Earth,
Your lips rose like the
Tide, your fullness swayed
On the sea; we sank into
The slumber of moonglow.
