Hope everyone's staying relatively cool in this heatwave. If you're looking for a new place to swelter, come on down to the Swap-O-Rama-Rama at the Venice Center for Peace and Justice this Saturday, June 28 from 11am-4pm. It's a day of clothing swaps, and DIY workshops that will teach you how to transform your finds so that you CAN say it's a diamond in the rough. And guess what? We'll be there teaching a workshop! Because the workshops are free, we won't be teaching our regular workshop, we'll be teaching a bare bones technique how-to, but it's enough to get you going! Ladies and Gentlemen, please bring your hands together for a hearty round of applause for Redrawn Arts' newest additions, Shadowplay and Weapon of Choice!! Shadowplay is a gothic take on Redrawn Arts' aesthetic, without sacrificing the comfort (Steel-lined corsets, anyone? No? No?..........hmm). Incorporating gothic blacks, greys, and reds, metal elements and intricate construction, Shadowplay is special-made for those looking to break it down goth-style at Bar Sinister, or for those just looking for a little more comfort in your daily goth dressings. Weapon of Choice is the punk version of Redrawn Arts. Here we'll be incorporating edgy graphics and all those little things that make punk fashion punk. We're not talking Hot Topic "punk", we're taking it back old school to the Ramones/Black Flag/MIsfits days. NYC and London punk. Corsetry Workshops with Redrawn Arts this SATURDAY, OCT 20

Info!: Redrawn Arts' beginner workshops will be held this Saturday, Oct. 20 in Westchester (south of Marina Del Rey, west of Inglewood). Workshops will continue on the second Saturday of every month thereafter. You'll need to bring your own T-shirt you want to transform, we'll provide the rest! RSVP early, classes are limited to 10 people each. Once you've emailed us requesting a spot in class, we'll send you a confirmation email with more specific information. The first class we'll be offering is a beginner class, where you'll learn basic corseting, strapping techniques, and simplified pattern-making techniques. Our future intermediate classes will offer advanced braids and corseting techniques, strong but simple hand-sewing techniques, and paneling (double corseting). Out future advanced classes will offer horizontal and diagonal corseting, dealing with odd-shaped patterns, and more hand-sewing techniques. Workshops will continue on the second Saturday of every month thereafter. You'll need to bring your own T-shirt you want to transform, we'll provide the rest! RSVP early, classes are limited to 10 people each. Once you've emailed us requesting a spot in class, we'll send you a confirmation email with more specific information.
