Rumi's poetry has inspired me to write this continually evolving poem.. now becoming a song... any comments would be appreciated as i continue to evolve this composition...







Love is a Tree...

love is a tree
and the lovers are its shade,
the springtime of lovers has come.
may this dustbowl heart
become a garden.

the proclamation of heaven
rings down,
that the bird of the soul
may rise in flight,
rise in flight.

the oceans become full of pearls,
the salt marsh becomes sweet as honey
the stone turns to amethyst
the body becomes wholly soul,
holy soul.

i am Renee
reborn
rebirth.
i am a sky
where spirits live

look up today
stare into my deepening blue
listen to the breezes
whisper my secrets

clouds changing clearer
North's bluer turquoise
oh lovers lovers
it is time
to set out from the world.

i hear a drum in my soul's ear
coming from the depths of the stars

dont be afraid of the dark times ahead
