I give myself permission to.....GO.....

I leave tomorrow for LA for a long weekend. This is the beginning of a big travel year for me. I travel for my job so leisure travel can be hard and I hold myself back so I can take on Burning Man and home trips. BUT, I've decided not this year...this is my year to take it all on because ya' never know what is around the corner. So, in the past 3 weeks I have booked flights to LA (again) Las Vegas (going to the BM regional for my Birthday) New Orleans (work and plllllleasure) Burning Man (I will be taking on BM LITE, to quote some...that is Wed-Sun) and one of the biggest trips I have taken on in my life GREECE for 10 days. It has always been on my list and I am finally going. Incredible. As I write this the nervousness overwhelms me. My stomach thumps and my hands shake....can I really do all this in a year AND keep up with my work travel. Ahhhh....YES...YES I can.

Anyone wants to join me on any of these adventures just let me know. The first drink is on me and the last will be alllll over me if I do this right. It's time to stop acting like a Rockstar and being one.

Belly Dancin' Is HARD!

Not that I thought it would be easy...I mean I know it's been around for a very long time and NOT all can do it but I thought I had pretty good coordination...ya' know....I can get my groooove on....I was incorrect....this is so much more!

Belly Dancing is an art and an aquired skill. I started 2 weeks ago and one of the things that has saved me is that I started taking yoga a month before so the moves have helped me center myself with this dance. You have to have control of your hips, pelvis and booty at the same time....again, I thought I had "booty control"....I do not....

I continue this journey with great enthusiasm regarding learning something new and taking on such a skill. Now, what to do with that booty.....kudos to you out there who have conquered this trade....you ladies are true Rock Stars.

Thanks.............

What a word. What it carries. We pass it around sometimes saying it as regularly as we blink. Yet, do we mean it? I wonder how much thanks we hold in ourselves. Yeah, we acknowledge what is around us but do we have the true meaning within our own worlds. Do we have true appreciation? Do we have gratitude?

I forget sometimes. I forget what gifts that I have been given as a person living in such a country of Freedom. I forget sometimes of how I am the one who creates my own self, no one else. I forget that my past does not make me and that I can take from it and make my surroundings better through experiences. I forget sometimes that love is an unconditional emotion that I have the ability to control for my own self worth. I forget that even though I don’t always touch them everyday how lucky I am to say I have friends across this world and how blessed I am to even have of met them. I sometimes forget that my family is just that family and I can never replace them. They have made me who I am and I must make the best of that. I forget the blessing of awareness towards myself mind, body and soul that I have been gifted over the recent years and how that has made me a better person with my work, money and people.

So for the above I give thanks. I send “thank you” out to my universe. I hold the word thanks close to my heart along with appreciation and gratitude and say it loudly. To anyone who has been a part of me I say thank you. I would not be me if it was not for you.

“Thanks” – what a concept. I hope that it is used more with respect for all in the future and that people think about the meaning each time they say it and the weight that it can carry.

Inside me.....

I took on my 6th Burning Man alone this year. I prepared, shopped, packed, traveled, set-up, tore down and tented alone. It was an experience that I had always wanted to try and through it learned a lot about myself. It is okay to be by myself. It is okay to take on something like this though scary with just me. I do not "need" anyone. I do not want someone there just to be there. I am proud that I have done this.

I also discovered that though I am okay with it I do not want to be alone. I looked in many mirrors and found that I am good with myself inside and out and because of this I am good for someone of love itself. I have been unsure many times but not this time. This time I know what I want. I know what the truth is and what are just things I make up to fill a void inside my heart. I will not let my accomplishment go to the waste side. I stand proud and continue on this path of self awareness and realize what I deserve as a strong woman. I will take on my world as I took on this trip. With confidence, gratitude towards who I've become and love for the world around me.

Thanks to all who showed me so much friendship and helped me discover this side of me. You know who you are and my heart is always open for you.
