I fell in Love with the islands on a trip to Kauaii in 1999 and have been living full time in Hawaii since 2001. I knew I was home the second I stepped off the plane, but my first full moon party out in Kalapana on top of the volcano, watching the river of fire coming down the mountain, while kids were breakdancing on a lava rock dancefloor, forever solidified my destiny in Hawaii. I started DJing on the Big Island in the spring of 2001, with the roots of my sound beginning within the depths of conscious hip hop. Breakbeats in their infinite forms have always been the solid foundation of my music. I really strive to keep each and every performance unique, by constantly infusing a multitude of genres and switching up or swamping down the tempo. I love the lush beautiful soundscapes of deep progressive tribal music, and have been really inspired by the West Coast, and German, glitch movement. Recently I have found a renewed interest in jungle music, especially the idea of mixing drum and bass double time over hip hop. I have been named by the Hawaii Tribune as the number 1 Breakbeat DJ on the Big Island, and for the last 3 years in a row I have played the mainstage, peak set, of the saturday night climax of the Hawaiian Electronic Music Festival...The largest festival of its kind on the Big Island, alongside fellow DJs... Friction, Chrystalline, Aaron Jae, Welder, Danny Corn, Anasia, Lion S, Ginger, Nick Muthafunka, Miss Kitty Lee, Darryl D, JenEye, Pika, Zapper, Switch Misstress, Disekta, and a host of other wonderful underground superstars. The last 2 springs I have headlined the Kapilina Burning Man Tribe's first ever regional gathering... the Rebirth Festival. My favorite show of the year is the annual performance of spinning music with Lorin Bassnectar, I have been friends with Lorin since 1996, and find him to be a subsonic sorcerer and a constant source of inspiration. My mix CD "Hope and Fear" is out now.... it is a mix of deep, beautiful breaks, grinding melodic electro, and gently glitching downtempo, it was designed as a journey of transformation through the realms of passion, love, and revolutionary politics, it unfolds from breakbeat into a dream tempo, and was crafted as kissing, and cuddling music, to listen to with your lover.
