about me
I'm a musician by trade and inclination. I play piano, mandolin, guitar, accordian, sing and am currently learning to fiddle. I tune pianos and teach lessons too.
I'm a liberal lefty, 420 friendly, very open minded, and I love to debate issues people are passionate about. I value honesty and openess in my friends. Socially I like people who like to go out to clubs especially to see live music, like to hike, like to stay home and hang with friends too.

Jeus Presley will be playing at The Mt. Tabor Legacy Theater at 4811 SE Hawthorne, on Saturday October 27th. The show starts at 9:00, we'll be on from about 11 until 1 and admission is free, so stop on in at some point in the night if you can. It's a benefit for the Oregon Food Bank and we will be collecting cash donations and/or cans of food for that fine organization.

I'm playing a surprise last minute show with Mod Lewis www.myspace.com/modlewis at Duff's Garage tomorrow night (11/30/07). www.duffsgarage.com This is a very occassional project that features members of Sweetjuice and which is always tons of fun when it happens. Come on down if you like 60'sish guitar rock with a slammin' horn section. Sonny and the Moonlighters , a mod band from Eugene, is playing at 9:30 and they pretty much insisted that Mod Lewis share the bill with them. We'll be on at about 10:30, Duff's has cheap admission, so come on down.

It's time for the annual Jesus Presley XMAS fest, Saturday December 8th at the Mt. Tabor Legacy.
JP will be busting out a bunch of our seasonal tunes spread over two huge sets. HyDrive will open up at about 9:30 and rock the house. They're even letting me jam along with their set. Free admission for anyone dressed like Santa!

Scotland Barr and the Slow Drags are having their CD release at Mission Theatre (16th and NW Glissan). Read their glowing review in the Willamette Week this week (pg. 40) and check out their A&E selection today as the top show to go to this week. I'll be sitting in with this great band on accordian for a few tunes tonight and they also are bringing some other guests in to make the show extra special. Opening is the fabulous James Low Band (featuring Lewi Longmire, and Tim Huggins and Rob Stroup from The Imprints) and Tony Smiley. Showtime is 9:00 and admission is $8.00. Please come out and support this great local band as they release their new CD and prepare to head out on a six week tour.

Rich's down-to-earth manner, openness, and kindness are refreshing and a very cool experience. He's been such a gentleman to me and I admire that. A true friend, as much as he possibly can be from 600 miles away. It's a shame that distance prevents us from having a big-time musical collaboration because I have a feeling he's really, really good at what he does.

Rich knows how to enjoy life. He will never grow old and will be partying into his 90’s. He makes me laugh all the time and I enjoy every moment I spend with him. Rich is an amazing musician. I love to watch him play...actually it turns me on ;-) And, he has an incredible amount of energy that can make the Energizer Bunny jealous, he can keep going and going and going...
Seriously though, Rich is an incredible person. Smart, witty, caring, sensitive, passionate, talented, devoted and is always there to help out a friend. He has the biggest heart I have ever known. I am so happy he is in my life and that he wants me in his.

What a charismatic being! Intense, passionate and creative, Rich is always in pursuit of the real deal. He is a relentless truth seeker--quite a rare find. Rich feels deeply and gives quite generously. I feel very fortunate to know him.
