Sticking not just a toe into the water here at Tribe, but the whole darn foot.

I spent the entire day networking in one way or another, sometimes by dancing, but mostly by talking with people. Every year the San Francisco Free Folk Festival bills itself as a music and dance weekend, but its secret identity is the Meeting Place of the Clans. People who used to do a little of everything and have now focused on a few particular types of dance and music can reconnect with old buddies who took slightly different paths. Lots of old and new faces there. I talked bodrans with a vendor, handed out flyers, bought the latest Free Folk T-shirt, and chatted up a storm with what seemed like every other person who passed. Then after I left the building, I spent another two hours standing by a parking meter and talking with yet *another* person. And after I got home, still more networking on-line. Whew! I'd vaguely planned to see A Hard Day's Night at the Camera 7 Midnight Movie, but instead I stayed home and alternated rest and housework. Until I sat back down in front of the computer to explore Tribe.
