My Testimonials

April 17, 2008
Robin is a man with a mission. He is on the enlightenment path and believe me, no one gets in the way.

He talks a lot at parties. Not much at all in private. Hates the telephone as a means of communication, however, he loves his email. You can all write him anything at anytime. He gets back to you (admiral quality). As regards nostalgia, he loves finding old friends and hooking up with them,

He is a kind soul. He is even bringing some very straight friends to our parties to help them grow out of their dull boring lives. See...he promotes through exposure.

He is a poet in an artist's body.

He challenges himself to some amazing physical activites. As a result, he is very fit.

He produces magical baubles and bling, even if it means creating it out of whats handy ariound him. I saw him hand Open Heart a little rock thingy and tell him it was a transportation device. And he believes it too.

All in all, you can always hang out with him for a good time. He knows good people.

Robin is a man of many words and no words.

He knows exactly when and where to use these words: a mark of a truly wise man.

When we are in the same spot, he freely shares his words, and I enjoy hearing them deeply.

I have also heard Robin say nothing, and it was equally beautiful and right. I will never forget the joy he brings to his friends and the world around him. My experience in the desert the last time around would not have been the same without his steady gaze and calm. He knows that everything is small and large at the same time. For a reason.

The fob is pointing to everything I've needed so far, my friend. Inexpressible fortunes, my friend. I will treasure this gift forever.

When are we camping again?

Things I've said in my spare time

Re: Little random bits of sweetness. (in Nice Burner) I don't get confused. I am, you are, she is our own god and should be made in our own image. I believe my God is not somebody else. That is why he/she is always there whenever you ask them to be present.

Re: playa bike (in LA Burners) For what its worth I got a $99 bike at Target several years ago and it was not worth it. Maybe a cruzer type with coaster brakes and no gears would be OK but any moving parts are reverse engineered and I gave the bike to someone with apologies th... read more

Re: Gifting ideas.. (in Burning Man Tips) When you go to a conference or have a back stage pass your wear a thing around your neck with the badge attached with a clasp. Re: Positive energy... (in Broken Staple) Its going to be the best most fantastic year, but there is so much to save up for and so much to get ready, but I'm primed in a new special way this year and where I love to go is going to benefit me exponentially.

Re: contact lenses on the playa? (in Burning Man Tips) I wear the daily ones on the playa. No mess of fuss. Could be me but never had a problem with dust as well. Bring goggles and funny shades for the day.

Thinking out loud

I’ve recently been exposed to two opposites which made me look at them in a clear light.

Worry and Joy

Which would you pick.
Which one is a more attractive emotion.
Who in your life manifests either of these emotions.
For me optimism wins hands down although I can see a delicate balance sometimes.

So I looked it up for some perspective and share the thoughts of others that resonate to me the most.

Drag your thoughts away from your troubles... by the ears, by the h... read more

Actually it was Friday but it took a little while for the right image to appear.

For all the very highs I have been having lately the perspective from the lows has been quite different. I am not afraid of the spiritual venues I have chosen, even though our deepest desires can be scary.
I am appreciating them both more and not afraid of new heights like I used to.

Even in my dreams I have been "challenging" (TY Mo) myself.

Reminds me of a story Alan Watts tells of if one coul... read more

Sung at the end of Gurmukh's class

I had an odd weekend. Fixed this, repaired that. No parties for once in a long time and I felt distant, exhausted and a bit vacant.

My best way of starting a new week has been at Gurmukh’s Monday night Kundilini Yoga and meditation class at The Golden Bridge. As I checked in there was a young gentleman, Patrick, who I heard tell the person at the check in counter that it was his first time attending class at this Spiritual Village. As I stretched my toes waiting for class I noticed P... read more

Why are all my teachers’ women? Good question although it might be influenced by my vocation in the construction trade where most of the men are not in touch with their feelings. Cars, Watching Sports, Swimsuit calendars, women as objects, I now and always have felt like an outsider.

I have been going through some enlightened changes lately; actually I see it as an exponential growth and am pursuing my development with a passion lately. Some of the books I have been studying lately ta... read more
